Chapter 53
Andrew's P.O.V
For the passed few hours were hell! As more and more Dragons came through the portals, the more the tension grew. You even couldn't break it with a wrecking ball! "This is insane!" Justin cried for the millionth time in pass hour. "Ah! Dude, stop! Your making me more anxious than I already am!" I exclaimed. "I can't help it!!" He exclaimed back. "Then sit down!!" I growled and he immediately did. "How?" He asked. "High Beta. Remember?" I asked. "Right... How does this work anyway?! It's all backwards." Justin exclaimed. "I don't know and actually don't care at this point!" I said as Chase came in. "Finally your not burning a hole in the ground!" He said, trying to lighten the mood. "Ha ha. Very funny." Justin said in bad humour as Chase sat down on the floor next to me, passing us a beer. "Just what the doctor ordered." I said as I took a sip. "The Dragon King... He wouldn't hurt Ari, would he?" Chase asked nervously. "No. Conner would never. After being around Kayla for a week, I notice that she and Ari are very similar. You could say that Kayla was her twin instead of me." I told him reassuringly and he relaxed. "How similar?" Justin asked, getting up and sitting down in front of us. "Almost identically. Their aura, personality, everything. It scared the heck out of me for a while, apart from their physical appearance." I answered. "What did you exactly do when you were with her?" Justin urged. "You know I can't give that brother. Not without Kayla's or Conner's permission." I replied as I felt a steel wall clam up in me. Protecting that bit of information from them.
Disappointment and frustration washed over Justin's features and I felt bad for not being able to tell him. "Justin, I want to tell you! I really do. But when you make a promise to a dragon, they bind you with their own magic to make sure we keep it. If I try, all you'll get is stammering and the person who you are bound too is immediately notified... And when they find out that when someone is trying to tell someone their secrets not their right to give, they have the choice to take that person life or find out why they are trying to tell others of them. Kayla gave us a clear warning of this, and we agreed to it." I added quickly and both him and Chase looked at me like I was crazy. "Your kidding, right?" Chase asked. "No. I'm not. Besides, they wouldn't kill us like that, they think they owes, all of them. And by their law, they... They. See." I said as I strangled to get that out. "So, they'll know now." Chase asked. "N-Not likely." A very small voice called from the door way from my bedroom door. We looked up to my entrance to see Storm hiding behind the doorframe. "Storm." I called and he moved some more around the corner. "Come here LD. These idiots won't hurt you." I reassured as he hesitated for a second before quickly scampering to me and cuddling into my side. "LD?" Justin asked. "Little Dude." I replied and Storm snuggled to me more, wrapping his right arm around my waist and the other over my stomach. His head rested under my arm and my chest.
"It's okay LD." I said soothingly and run my fingers through his hair, just like how Jude would when Storm was upset. And sure enough, Storm slowly relaxed against me. "How do you mean, 'not likely'?" Chase asked and Storm opened his eyes to look at him. "K-Kayla is weak. E-Emotionally." He stuttered. "It's okay, you can trust them." I whispered to him and he relaxed even more. "A-And Conner... The last time I saw him, only the shackles held him up." Storm whispered before hiding again. I tightened my arm around him so his head was on my chest and him in my lap. I felt his small body tremble against mine and the first sob escape him. "Shh... Come on. It's okay. They're going to be okay." I whispered to him as he let it all out. Chase moved closer to me and started rubbing Storms shoulder in comfort. Justin came up the other side of me and rubbed the length of Storms spine and back. Storm held onto my shirt in a death grip as he got comforted by us. After half an hour he calmed down to sniffles and single tears. "What happened LD?" I asked, pulling him around so he was straddling my thighs, to which he blushed at. "Is it what happened at the Den?" I added and he hung his head. I lifted a hand, placed a finger under his chin and brought his flushed face to mine. "Is it?" I asked more firmly and he nodded. 'Should you being using force with him?' Justin asked. 'Jude does it and I've seen it work plenty of times.' I replied. "Want to tell me about it?" I asked. "You can trust us Storm." Chase soothed as Justin closed the door. "These rooms are sound proof LD, you can tell us now... If you wish." I soothed, rubbing my hand up and down his right arm.
