Aria
I shook my head at my twins antics. Andrew was currently James as he played with Convel in the front yard. Their mock fight was amusing to watch. James was playfully challenging Convel and the idiot that he was, was confused to whether to take it seriously or not and causing James to win and Convel to retaliate to "reclaim" his future position.
It's been five days since we arrived here; my shoulder healed during the first night but my ribs refused to and Dr Zander had to figure out why. Apparently, since Sapphire and I haven't shifted since a few months after we transitioned, our healing abilities were slower than an omega's. For them, broken bones take for weeks to heal. Thankfully, my ribs are only fractured, besides one that Dr Luke moved on purpose. I have another x-ray scheduled for today and hopefully, Dr Zander will tell me Andrew and I can leave.
Speaking of which, we should go, Sapphire said and I looked at my watch. Nearly ten in the morning and that's when my appointment was. I sighed and stood. I carefully stretched and groaned. James heard me and allowed Convel to win before both of them shifted. They pulled on a pair of shorts each and followed me to the clinic.
"You think Zander will let you leave?" Caiden asked.
"I hope so, but if he doesn't, we'll be leaving today anyway,"
"What, why?"
"I've healed enough to travel to White Warriors, the last bone that needs to be healed is the one that bastard moved," I replied and he sighed.
"I was hoping you two would stay here a little longer. It's been so long since we've hung out like this,"
"I agree on that, Den but you heard Chase's howl. We need to leave," Andrew replied and he frowned.
"How do you know it was Chase's?"
"Sapphire knows her mates howl," I replied dully.
"Oh," Caiden said, not knowing what else to say. We walked in silence until we reached the clinic. We sat in the waiting room for a few minutes before a nurse leads us to the x-ray room. Dr Zander arrived shortly after and the nurse readied the x-ray.
"Hello, Aria, Andrew, young Alpha," he greeted
"Dr Zander," we replied.
"Ready to find out if you can start travelling?"
"Yes," I replied and he smiled.
"Then hop onto the table, please," he said and helped the nurse with the last of the protocols. "Okay, we are ready. Andrew, Caiden, can you kindly wait just outside?" Andrew grumbled but followed Caiden out of the room anyway. He had no choice; the second time I had my chest x-rayed, Andrew refused to leave and Caiden had to drag him out.
"Okay, let's see how we are doing here," Dr Zander muttered as he adjusted the camera over my chest and stood behind a window panel in the room. "Hold your breath, Aria. Taking the picture in three, two, one." There was a buzzing sound and a loud click before the machine was moved.
"Okay, Aria. These will be developed in a few minutes, you can wait outside," Dr Zander said and I sat up.
"Doc, you say 'okay' a lot," I said. The good doctor frowned at my observation and laughed.
"I guess I do, don't I?" I laughed with him and left the room. Andrew stood and rushed over to me. Ever since we heard Chase howl, he had been worried I'd sneak back or something. I won't lie and say the thought hadn't crossed my mind, but Andrew doesn't want me to go back and even though I want my mate, I don't want to go back either.
