Chapter 29
Aria's P.O.V
"Do you think you can repeat that?! I don't think I heard you properly!" Angela said. I was staring at Drake shocked... And Chase and Kyle weren't much better either. "My mother knew the last Royals. She was particularly close to the High Royal!" Drake repeated again. "Is she still alive... So to speak?" I asked. "Yeah, she is. Why?" "Because she might know something that could help us!" Chase said, picking up my train of thought. "Like?" Kyle asked. "Like who was the unknown threat that killed the last Royals and whether they are contacted to the Red Warrior! Because if so, we'll find ourselves in hurricane of trouble!" I said.
"And we're basically dead without the other Royals!" Angie said. "Yep!" I said, not liking the idea. "And I can't call anyone until my birthday in two weeks!" I said. "You know what, let's just drop the subject for now and wait until we tell the others okay?!" I added. It's way too early in the mourning for this... Even though it's 9:15.
"Alright." I got in return. "Drake can you start taking out those plates for me please?" I asked and he complied. "Later your showing me your wolf missy!" I said, pointing to Angie. "And if I say no." She replied backing away slowly. "Seriously?! You wanna play that game!?!" I asked her as I started moving closer to her. Chase and Kyle looked at each other confused and then looked at us like we just lost our minds.
Angie and I stopped what we were doing and looked at them, then at each and we burst out laughing at their expression. "You'll... Get used to... Us like this... In awhile!" I said between laughs. Chase beamed at me because I was laughing and Kyle was looking at Angie with love shinning in his eyes.
I stopped laughing immediately because I could feel Kyle's wolf almost ready for the shift. "Kyle calm down!" I said. Angie stopped laughing and looked at Kyle. "Ari what's wrong?" Chase asked. "I can't feel Kyle's wolf nearing the surface and wanting to shift!" I said and Angie immediately went to Kyle. I felt Kyle's wolf back down a bit as Kyle took in her scent.
"He's fine for now, but I think though that after breakfast that he'll be ready to shift!" I said. Chase nodded. "Aria... Um... Does the shift... Uh... Hurt?" Kyle asked nervously as we entered the dinning room again. Tristan heard his brother's question and came over to us for the answer, looking nervous. "I'm not going to sugar coat it boys, the first shift will be painful but after that, it'll be like breathing." I explained.
"So... It will hurt?" Tristan asked. "Yes Tristan, it will hurt, a lot, but I'll be there okay. I've taught, I think almost 10 pups how to not fight the shifting process and they came out fine." I reassured them. "Yeah, I saw her do 3 pups in the last year and they completely fine." Angie said as she squeezed Kyle's hand for reassurance. He calmed down a bit. "You won't leave us... Right?" Tristan asked worried.
I pulled him into a hug and he held onto me tightly. "I wouldn't leave you two, even if it cost me my life. I wouldn't you leave you. I already lost to much of my family!" I said to him and he held me tighter. "C'on let's get something to eat." I said after a moment and pulled away. Tristan place his hand in mine and didn't let go of me. I smiled at him. "I'm not going anywhere Tristan!" I told him. "I know, it's just..." He trailed off. "It's just?" I asked. "It's just that my chest doesn't hurt as much when I'm around you!" He explains.
I looked at Chase and he had knowing look on his face. I looked into Tristan's mate bond and I saw Lilly as his mate. "That'll be your wolf saying that your mate is close by. Since he can't talk to you until after your first shift, this is his other way of say that his mate is close." I say. "And I guess being close to me is him waiting patiently and backing down until you shift!" I added and he looked nervous. "It's okay, I know the girl. She wouldn't hurt you!" I said to calm him down because he starting to go from nervous to scared.
