"it's so great to see you again" christian smiled, i took a sip of coffee and nodded,
"good to see you too, anyway i never asked but how come you're in new york?" i questioned, but of course i knew why he was here.
"i just had a great night with you at devi's wedding and i really wanted to see you again" he chuckled, i raised an eyebrow at him and nodded slowly. yes yes, i was on my second coffee date with christian. was this because of the bet? of course not, he's a pretty cool guy.

just as another conversation was about to erupt, the bell above the cafes door jingled and i looked up to see bucky walking in with a pretty girl beside him. his arm wrapped around her waist, i mentally smiled to myself and quickly looked away when i saw his head turning towards me.
"i had a great night with you too" i spoke, placing a hand on christians forearm. christian looked up at me, his cheeks slightly pink from the gesture. after taking a swig of coffee from his mug, he licked his lower lip and gave me a lopsided smile,
"you like sushi?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowed slightly, i nodded quickly
"fuck yes", i watched as he stood up and reached his hand out for me to take. i took a quick look over at bucky to see that he was taking a sip from his mug, but his eyes were on me. turning my gaze back around, i took christians hand as he led me out of the cafe, my hand gently holding onto his.
"i love this place" i gasped, as we stood outside the sushi restaurant i always went to. he gave me a grin and squeezed onto my hand as we went inside.

after a huge serving of sushi, christian and i walked out of the restaurant. the both of us giggling like crazy from the amount of food we had eaten,
"come on" he chuckled, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the water fountains which splashed out from the ground. i squealed with laughter as the water shot out at us, the both of us drenched from the cold water. the two of us walked back to his car, he grabbed a jacket from the backseat and draped it over my shoulders.
"why thank you" i chuckled, pulling the coat tighter around me. the strong scent of his perfume radiating off the fabric and wafting into my nose.
"of course" he smiled and opened the passenger door for me to get in.

"very much hoping i'll be able to take you out like this again" christian said as he parked his car. i gave him a genuine smile and nodded,
"i'd like that" i replied. after we had agreed on a date and time for when we'd meet again, he got out of the car and opened the door for me.
"see you soon then" he chuckled, giving me a gentle smile. i nodded, he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on my cheek. before getting back into his car and driving off. this wasn't supposed to go anywhere, these dates. but part of me was hoping that they would.

i made my way inside and bounced back to my bedroom, christians jacket still thrown comfortably over my shoulders. just as i was about to close the bedroom door, bucky's hand held the door open as he slipped inside.
"good date?" i asked, he gave a short nod.
"you?" he asked back. i beamed at him,
"brilliant" i smiled. his face dropped slightly from my happy face and enthusiastic tone.
"well mine was brilliant too" he scoffed, staring at the unfamiliar jacket on me. i peeled it off and threw it on my bed,
"that's good then" i replied, he said nothing and continued staring at the jacket which lay on my bed.
"that thing stinks by the way" he murmured, nodding at christians jacket. i chuckled, knowing damn well that it smelt amazing.
"fuck off barnes" i smiled, shaking my head. a smile twitched at his lips as he gave me a small salute and made his way out.

"you think you like him?" nat asked, passing me a cup of hot chocolate. i held the scorching cup in my hands and looked up at her,
"it's too soon to tell but he's a really nice guy" i explained, shrugging slightly. she nodded and hopped up, sitting on the counter beside me.
"well, personally, i think that you and barnes are pretty hot together" she whispered. i rolled my eyes,
"debatable" i replied. she put her hands up in defence,
"just expressing my opinion" she chuckled. i smiled at her and nodded,
"i..i'll just how it goes with christian" i mumbled. she nudged me,
"holy shit you like him" she gasped, her eyes twinkling slightly.
"no she doesn't" a deep voice interrupted, the both of us jumped slightly and looked over at bucky who was leaning against the wall. steve standing beside him looking completely amused.
"says who?" nat asked, hopping off the counter and taking a few steps towards the men.
"it's just a bet" bucky scoffed and winked at the both of us before waltzing out.
"how do you have the patience to deal with him?" i asked steve. he shrugged and shook his head,
"sometimes i wonder that" he chuckled, before walking to catch up with bucky.
"he's totally in love with you" nat murmured, walking back towards me. i slapped her arm lightly,
"love's a strong word" i replied, finishing off my hot chocolate.
"and it's the perfect word to describe what he's fallen into" she said back. the two of us stared at eachother before bursting into a small fit of laughter.
