Chapter 13

A\N: School fucking exists

Henry POV

the appointment finally finished and Ellie didn't come back.

Charles came out of the room and smiled at me.

"do you think i'll get better?" he grinned. i nodded and shuffled his hair. 

we got out of the office and walked to the car but once we got there, Ruby was gone.

Charles started worrying and looked all around the car. 

"Ruby has been kidnapped!" he cried. i sighed.

"c'mon, Charles. we got to go home. if you stay another minute out here you'll get more sick. " i explained.

Charles just sighed and got in the car. for the rest of the trip, Charles just sat in silence.

i can tell by the look on his face that he was worried for Ruby and Ellie. i was too.

well, what can i say that Ellie just disappeared without saying anything?!

and now, Ruby is missing!

i was lost in the dust. why did Ellie leave without saying anything?

judging on how many times i called her and she didn't pick up, she must be busy with something.

something that i'm not sure about. 

we arrived home and managed to park right in front of it. 

Charles walked out of the car, looking kind of dizzy.

"Charles? are you okay?" i asked. i'm just making sure he doesn't fall.

he nodded and walked to the sidewalk.

"yeah, i'm fine. just a little bit dizzy." he chuckled. i nodded and walked up to the front door.

once i opened the door, the first thing we both saw was..

Ruby.

she braked and ran to Charles, sniffing his leg.

Charles laughed with joy and picked her up.

"Ruby! you're okay!" he cried and walked inside.

i stood there, puzzled but i didn't stay there for long.

i closed the door, blocking anymore cold air from coming in the house.

Charles was filled with joy and light when he saw Ruby. 

okay, we found Ruby but what about Ellie? 

i started to look around the house for any clues that Ellie is around.

clearly, she isn't in the house. 

i walked back to the living room and sat down next to Charles.

he turned to me and gave me a confused look.

"why do you look so stressed, Hen?" he asked as he tilted his head.

i sighed before i could answer this question he threw at me.

at this point, questions are not surprisingly welcome in this.

"it's just Ellie being missing." i sighed again.

Charles cracked a smile.

"Hen, don't worry. Ellie is gonna come back, maybe she just went somewhere without telling us." he said.

maybe, Charles got a point about that.

she's an adult, i am too.

so, i shouldn't be worrying like if i was a mother.

Charles laughed and placed his head on my shoulder.

he brushed Ruby's fur with his fingers.

....

a few minutes has passed.

Charles warmth heated up and he was now sleeping on me.

it feels nice.

really nice.

at least i have Charles with me.
