Jace sighs as he enters the car

Jace sighs as he enters the car. "Why are you mad at me?" he asks me calmly.

I'm the one scoffing this time. "Why am I mad at you? What kind of a question is that?" I say turning towards him, ready for confrontation.

"Don't bitch at me, just tell me," he says, slightly frustrated.

I ignore his rude choice of words and sigh.

"You know I don't lose my temper easily, but what was that? Why were you so quiet all of a sudden? You should've told her to back the fuck off," I say, crossing my arms once again.

"Really, Mila? I thought that me not talking to her would be what you want," he defends himself.

"Why would that be what I want? She made a fool out of me and you let her," I say, feeling like a stupid little child in front of Jessica. "Do you not want her to know about us?"

Jace sighs once more. "You really think I didn't want her to know? That's fucking bullshit, Mila. I couldn't care less about her or her opinion for that matter," he says, getting annoyed at my behavior.

I can't help but let the confrontation make a tear slip out of my eye. The words Jessica said to Jace and I are getting to me after all.

"Hey, please don't cry," Jace says gently again, placing his hand on my cheek to make me face him.

I'm quiet for a few seconds to be able to control myself again.

"I guess I just wish you would've told her off, defended me. She made me feel so incredibly stupid," I say quietly, still not daring to look at him.

"I'm sorry, babe. I read the situation wrong. Next time this happens, I'll definitely tell her to back off," Jace says to my surprise.

I don't know why, but I expected him to become mad at me, tell me I'm acting childish. I guess he knows this is a pretty sensitive topic for me.

"Forgiven?" he says, pouting at me childishly to cheer me up.

My eyes find his and I have to break out into a little smile. Nodding my head up and down slowly I signal him that I won't be bitter about it. Jace pulls my face toward him and places a sweet kiss on my cheek.

"Good. Let's go home then, so you can post another photo of your new tattoo," Jace teases me.

I chuckle right back at him and have to smile, when I push the drama aside and remember that I did in fact get another tattoo done today. Jace starts the engine to take us home and I grab my phone to answer the girls in the group chat when I see that Bree has already replied.

Yeah! I'm free for dinner tonight if you guys are. Bree doesn't have plans? That must mean...

"Are you seeing Austin tonight?" I ask Jace, figuring that Austin must be busy in order for Bree not to have any plans.
