"Would you mind driving me home after breakfast?" I ask Jace the next morning. "I really need a change of clothes and I have to get some reading done for my classes" I add, remembering I have a lot to do today.
"Sure" Jace answers putting our plates away once we're finished eating. "I'm guessing you want to shower at your dorm again?" he asks and I nod, half-smiling at him.
I stand up to collect the rest of my things, as Jace grabs his keys.
"Next time just bring some of your clothes, we can store them here" he says casually, and my breathing stops for a second.
What did he just say?
"Really? You want that?" I ask, just to make sure I heard him right.
"Yeah, it'll be easier for you. You won't always have to pack a bag" he answers.
Easier? Is Jace really committing to this, like an actual relationship? I decide not to ask further question, but like the idea of having some clothes here.
"I'd like that" I tell him, and then we're out the door.
Jace drops me off as planned, and to my surprise, Bree is home when I enter our room back on campus.
"Hey you!" she says in her usual, enthusiastic voice.
"Hey!" I greet her back.
"Where are you coming from, young lady?" she chuckles at me.
"You know where" I chuckle back.
"I know I know, I just got back too" she answers me. "So, things are good between you two?"
I smile big at her question. "Yeah, I think so. He kind of... just told me to bring some clothes over next time" I explain to her, earning myself a big squeal.
"Are you serious? What did you do to that guy?" she smiles, just as big as me.
"I have no idea" I tell her honestly and plop down onto my bed. "But" I start and roll up my sweater, showing her my arm. "Look at this."
"Oh. My. God. You got a tattoo?" Bree says, and comes over to look at it.
"Yeah, he took me."
"Hold me tight?" Bree asks me, a little confused.
I remember that she doesn't know about my panic disorder, since it never came up between the two of us.
"I know I haven't told you, but..." I start and take a breath, still not liking to talk about it. "I have a panic and anxiety disorder, a bad one. I know you can't always tell... but when someone holds me tight, that's one thing that really helps in that situation" I explain, looking down.
Bree smiles at me after a few seconds of realization. "I think the tattoo's beautiful" she says and gives me a big hug.
I'm relieved she doesn't comment, and just accepts what I told her. "Thank you" I smile back at her. "So, what are the plans for today?" I say, starting to pack my clothes for a shower.
