At four years old, Nakano was having something close to a breakdown.

What would she do?

Hatake Sakumo.

She can't let him go.

No, no no no.

She cant.

An idiot, she called herself.

These past four years, it had become sort of a tradition to celebrate Kakashi and Nakano's birthdays together.

And after many sleepovers and hangouts, she'd find herself crying once the sudden realization hit her.

Would Sakumo's death hit her worse than Kakashi's?

No. No Sakumo was Kakashi's actual father after all.

But she witnessed both their deaths, even if it was on a screen.

She hid from everyone, hid her chakra and cried.

"No, No No No No No." The word was all she could get to escape her mouth.

The time Sakumo actually got her a dictionary for her birthday.

How he taught her how to make a fireball.

How he taught her how to throw kunai, and the importance of teammates.

Just how hard would his death be on her?

It'd be hard. That's for sure. They were like her second family, just as close to her as her actual one.

But he's not dead yet, is he?

This was all hurting her head.

This was her fault for getting so attached. None of this was real, right?

No, it was. Unfortunately, the pain was much too real to be fake. This was terrible, it was so painful and she just wanted it to stop.

Maybe she could save Sakumo...Right? Maybe she could protect Kakashi from feeling the pain of the loss of a parent.
