"S-Shun..." They both muttered as the man scowled at them and released her wrist, placing his hands in his pockets and taking a deep breath.
"Tell me, what happened the last time I caught you both trying to kill each other?"
They paled.
"Uh-huh. You remember don't you? I sent you both to the hospital after I threw you off a cliff, and your parents didn't bat an eye- except your little brother Itachi." Nakano was too busy processing the fact that he was here to realize her brother threatened her teammate.
Shun sighed and shook his head. "From what I've been told, you've both been through quite a bit...Though, I'm disappointed in both of you."
Their eyes widened, hearing words neither of them ever wanted to hear. To everyone else watching, it looked like the two were children getting a serious scolding, and for a second Itachi saw an image of their team from many years ago.
"First of all, you're both idiots." He held up one finger, that being his middle. And proceeded to lift his pointer finger as well.
"And two, Naruto-San shouldn't be the one who snapped Hiroshi out of whatever illusion he was in, it should have been you, Nakano."
"Shun...I-"
"And Hiroshi." Even with his glasses on, they could see Shuns glare directed to both of them.
"I don't know what Madara did to you, but none of this was Nakanos fault...Honestly..." He pulled them both into a hug and allowed a single tear to fall from both of his eyes.
"It hurts seeing you two idiots trying to kill each other."
"S-Shun..." Nakano looked back down at Hiroshi after they pulled back from the hug. For a second, they simply stared at each other with a certain sadness in their eyes.
"If I'm honest," She finally spoke up. "When I lost you and Shun, I was heartbroken. I spiralled into a deep depression, and it's possible I still haven't been pulled out of it. And then, I even broke my promise to protect your sister..." She placed her kunai away and deactivated her sharingan.
"If I could go back and give my life for both of yours, I would. I'm sorry I failed you both."
"..." Hiroshi's eyes drooped before blinking as water hit his face, and he found himself staring back at the blurry face of his best friend, tears in his own orbs.
"I wouldn't." He spoke up, drawing her attention to stare back into his eyes. "I've been such a jerk, that the only thing I would change from back then is I'd finish the job and make sure I didn't exist in the future."
She slowly got off of him and stood next to him.
Shun glanced between them and brought his hands up to their heads, gently grasping them and hitting their heads against each other.
