"You guys were getting married, huh?" Sakumo smiled and shook his head. "I knew it. Kakashi hated it when I said that, but it was destined to happen."

"Really?" She sent him an odd look and turned back to the fire, a small blush on her face that was matching with her small scowl.

"How did I not notice his advances...?"

"Ah, you were always an idiot."

"Hey!" He smiled warmly before turning his head to the ground and fiddling with his fingers.

"I can tell..." She turned her head up to look at him in question, wondering what he had meant. Sakumo looked guilty, like he wanted to apologize for something.

"I made you suffer a lot, didn't I?"

"Eh," She shrugged but couldn't stop the tear that rolled down her cheeks. "Maybe just a little."

"I apologize for that. It wasn't my-"

"It's alright, I understand." Now it was his turn to send her a look, one of confusion and a little shock. Does Nakano not hate him? She doesn't despise him, even if he caused her a lot of pain?

"I know what it's like, to want to leave this world because of the pain."

He was about to speak when another figure began to form next to Nakano, causing them both to sigh with the smallest of smiles. "T-Tou-San?" Kakashi blinked in shock while Nakano rolled her eyes.

"What am I? Chopped liver-OW!" Kakashi pulled her ear with a sneer, momentarily ignoring the legendary shinobi who sweatdropped at the scene.

"What do you think you're doing, dying like that?!"

"And what about you, hypocrite? YOU'RE DEAD TOO!"

"Oi! You died first so I'm not a hypocrite!"

"Hn!" The two glared at each other until two pairs of hands lifted them both by their collars and set them on the wooden logs to sit. Sakumo stared at the fire a if he hadn't just broken up a fight while they glared at him.

Kakashi sighed and wrapped an arm around his fiance, leaning a little onto her as he spoke with his father.

"Neither of you seem to hate me, despite me causing you trouble and pain. Why is that?"

"Actually," Kakashi watched as the flames grew stronger. "I really did hate you, tou-san. I never understood why Kano-Chan didn't, but I do now." He squeezed her waist, seeking comfort, which she gave him willingly.
