"SAKUMO-OJI!" Kakashi stood frozen, tears pouring from his eyes as his best friend shook the man, hoping for him to wake up.
"Please dont go!" She held in tears and checked for a pulse, falling in despair when she found none.
"No!" Kakashi fell on his knees, sobbing uncontrollably at the realization.
But he didn't fully understand death yet.
Nakano did.
And that made it all more painful for the both of them. She kicked the bottle of poison away and embraced her friend, placing a hand on his head and turning it away from the terrible sight.
An hour later and ANBU entered after Sakumo failed to report to the hokage. He stumbled upon the scene of the two kids and ran towards the hokage building.
Thus, marked the day Hatake Sakumo died.
Minato and Kushina rushed to the scene, Fugaku as well. They found the two children inseparable, with one crying into the shoulder of the other.
"Kakashi..." She closed her eyes painfully and hugged the boy, many adults wondering why she seemed so mature.
Eventually, Kakashi had cried himself to sleep while Nakano stared blankly at the ground. Arms wrapped around her figure, their hug helping her much more than they thought.
"I'm sorry, Nakano."
"Yeah..." She choked back a sob. "I am too, tou-san."
He pulled back, shocked by what he saw.
