Chapter 17 - The News

Riley and Slayzes sat in the crowd. The last match was up, it was between two girls. A girl called Luna Parome, and the other girl was called Mikayla Thorne. Slayzes grabbed Riley's hand, he hadn't felt so close to someone since he and Skylah were dating.

"Ready? Begin!"

Mikayla dashed forward at Luna, forming a ball of fire in her hands. Luna blew a gust of wind in Mikayla's direction, causing the ball of fire to hit back at her. Mikayla's clothes were now charred by the fire that Luna had successfully deflected. Mikayla spat on the ground, preparing to make an even bigger fireball.

The second fireball was thrown at Luna once again, the heat of the sphere was making Mikayla sweat a little, but it still made its way towards Luna. Luna tried to deflect the sphere of fire once again, but it didn't work this time. The fire sent Luna to the ground, her skin was injured and grzed. With the condition she was already in, she looked weak and useless.

Slayzes and Riley looked at each other, unsure if this girl – Luna –  was able to cope with the heat of fire. They could see that her eyes were watering up, tears soon began to flow from her eyes. It made her look even worse when her legs, arms, neck and even stomach began to bleed. It was visible her stomach was beginning to bleed because her shirt was starting to turn red.

"Should we do something?" Riley whispered into Slayzes's ear.

"No. If this girl signed up for this, surely she knew something like this would happen," Slayzes replied, concentrating on the duel. As much as he wanted to help, he knew that the girl had signed up for a reason, she should've known this could have happened to her.

"I guess you're right, but ..."

"If it gets out of hand, Headmaster Kralo will do something about it, I know he will."

''OK ..." Riley turned all her attention back to the match, but every single thing that happened to Luna made her cringe even more.

Luna stood up from where she was sitting, the ground was now dark red due to the blood Luna had just lost. A medium sized tornado appeared in Luna's hand, it began to spin faster as it grew bigger, causing Luna to feel uncomfortable when holding it. In a panic, Luna threw threw the tornado towards Mikayla, sending it all over the battlefield.

Mikayla laughed aloud. "Is that all you got? C'mon, freak!" Mikayla grunted.

Luna looked like she was in a world of grief at the moment. The crowd laughed at her. Every single thing they did to the poor girl made her situation a whole lot worse.

"Slayzes! Please, we need to help her!" Riley begged, tugging on Slayzes's shirt.

"You're right. Let's make our way towards Headmaster Kralo!" Slayzes and Riley both stood up from their seats, making their way towards Headmaster Kralo.

Luna started going out of control. She began looking towards the shadows that the arena held. Luna forced her hands towards the shadows, flicking her hands around like a mad person. Slayzes and Riley stopped from where they were standing, realising that the shadows were beginning to move around.

They both looked down at the arena, seeing that all the shadows were now swirling around Luna. A giant cheer formed in the crowd, the people began to egg Luna on.

Headmaster Kralo stood up from his seat, muttering a few words under his breath. Luna released the ball of shadows, throwing them towards Mikayla.

"DISQUALIFIED! I SAID DISQUALIFIED!" The referee yelled, trying to get Luna's attention.
