Slayzes ran down the stairs in his house with excitement. Today was the day he turned seventeen. As he ran down the stairs he could smell his favourite food. Bacon and eggs. "Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me!" He sang with excitement.
Slayzes reached the kitchen, where his step-mum, Cathy, and his dad, Tim, were standing. His light, blue eyes were staring at the food on his plate. His parents approached him very slowly. "Happy Birthday, Slayzes!" They said in unison.
"Thanks Cathy, thanks Dad!" The boy started gulping down his food ever so greedily. Slayzes had always been a big eater, but he was also very fit. "Wow this is the best food ever!" The boy commented as he finished the rest of his breakfast.
"So? What are you going to do today?" Cathy asked as she took the plate from the counter and put it in the sink.
Slayzes thought for a few seconds, when suddenly an idea came to his head he said, "I think I am going to be hanging out with Skylah today. She sent me a text to me this morning saying she had a surprise for me," he answered.
"OK, Slayzes, but remember not to go to close to the Human Portal near Pearl Cave, alright?" His step-mother reminding Slayzes as if he were twelve.
"I know Cathy, I won't!" Slayzes snapped. He was still adjusting to having a step-mum even though it had been almost two years.
After Slayzes finished breakfast he brushed his teeth and had changed into some blue jeans, and a white t-shirt with a panda on it saying Respect the shades in a speech bubble. Slayzes then headed down stairs to grab his blue jacket that was hanging on the coat rack. "Bye Cathy, bye Dad!" Exclaimed the boy as he opened the door and walked out.
"BYE!" Said his parents in unison again.

Slayzes arrived at his girlfriend's house, well it was more like a treehouse, since it was above ground. "Skylah you in there?!" The boy yelled out to the wooden house, it was quite large for a tree house, it had three bedrooms, a small dining room. and they got their food from the trees around them.
Skylah walked out the front door from her house. "Hey Slayzes!" Piped the girl. Her long, red hair going down to the middle section of her spine. You're looking as blonde as ever!" Skylah jumped off her tree house' balcony, it wasn't high up so Skylah felt no pain when jumping. "Happy Birthday Mr. Seventeen," she chimed, ruffling his hair.
Slayzes blushed, his connection with Skylah was incredibly strong, nothing could break them a part. "Thanks Skylah, so where are we going?"
"Just follow me, and you will see." Skylah then grabbed Slayzes's wrist and pulled him along with her.
After about ten minutes of walking, running, and a lot of kissing in between, the two had reached the river. Skylah then kissed Slayzes on the cheek and started talking. "I thought it might be nice to have a nice relaxing birthday here, only you and me."
"I think it sounds nice, but..."
"But what?"
"But I think we should have a swim first!"
"Slayzes we have no swimmers with us!"
"We don't need swimmers, we can just swim in our clothes! It is quite hot, and the water is refreshing. So let's go!"
Skylah started running towards the stream, trying to get to the river before Slayzes. "Race you!"
"Hey you cheated! No fair!" Slayzes started running towards Skylah and the river in front of her. Skylah had just got in the river before Slayzes, though she did have a head start, Slayzes was a better runner than her. "You cheated." He said as he crossed his arms and looked at the waterfall.
