Skylah sat down next to Slayzes, she was asked not to tell his parents about this. Lucy had gone foraging for berries, and fruits. Skylah found it hard trying to breathe after an hour. But at least Slayzes was slowly recovering from the two punches he felt.
Skylah looked Slayzes in the eyes. Everything that was happening wasn't positive. First the news. Second was Aalto and his injury. Now there was this. Will Aalto even be able to attend the academy? Skylah thought inside her head.
"I think I can move now." Slayzes groaned, trying to stand up. Slayzes fell back to the ground and groaned in pain.
"You're still in no condition!" Skylah scolded, helping Slayzes feel comfortable without causing him even more pain.
Skylah started biting her hair. She always had this addiction when she was nervous. It all started when she was around six, Slayzes learned to deal with it, but most people couldn't.
Skylah stood up, she took a deep breath, inhaling all the thin air. The air that was once in Skylah's mouth escaped with a big sigh. Slayzes had been sitting there for ages now, his body wouldn't heal.
Lucy had come back, she was with nothing but herself. "I couldn't find any berries, and all my money is at home. Or at least I think it is my money."
Lucy looked at Slayzes, her face covered in guilt. Everything that had happened to Slayzes was all her fault. Lucy walked over to Slayzes, feeling his head. It was warm, but not hot.
"Lucy, could you please excuse us for a second?" Skylah asked, turning her head to Slayzes. "I need to look at his stomach, if you don't mind."
"Of course, can I see Aalto then? He is probably bored in that bed."
"Sure," Skylah said.
After Lucy left Skylah walked back over to Slayzes. "I need to look at your stomach, it could be bruised."
Skylah placed her hand on Slayzes's shoulder. Her other hand approached Slayzes's shirt, but Slayzes hesitated.
"I'm sure I am fine, just a bruise."
Skylah looked at Slayzes's shirt, she quickly grabbed it and pulled it up a bit. "Oh my!" Skylah gasped, looking at the bruise that covered Slayzes's stomach. "I told you I needed to look at it!"
"I told you ..." Slayzes trailed off. His stomach was pretty sore, Drake really had a fire in him.
"I am going to have to carry you out of here. Otherwise, you will never get better. OK?"
Slayzes groaned, looking at his bruise. "Do I really have a choice?" He whined, wishing that he could fly with no pain.
"Nope," Skylah answered, getting under Slayzes's arm, and pulling him up. Slayzes groaned as he got lifted up onto Skylah's back. "You're getting a free ride ... Just deal with the pain a little more."
"Fine!"
Skylah began walking out of the cave. Her muscles, trying not to give in. Skylah kept on pushing herself, straining her back, but she needed to get Slayzes to the hospital.
***
After a whole hour of pulling, tugging, dropping, and moaning, Skylah had finally reached the hospital. As Skylah was about to enter, Lucy came out of the doors, shocked to see Skylah and Slayzes.
Lucy ran over to help Skylah, releasing the stress on Skylah's muscles. Skylah let out a nice sigh in relief, her muscles screaming for room.
"Thanks ..." Skylah murmured, trying to get Slayzes inside the hospital.
