Slayzes spent the next few days helping Maya set up all the christmas decorations. Nick was starting to become very busy at work, and as a result, Slayzes had to start helping Maya with a few things. And although he was a bit busy, Slayzes managed to find time for Riley and Noah.
"There," Noah said, putting the star on top of the Christmas Tree. "Now it is finished! And it looks awesome!" he exclaimed. Slayzes had to agree, the tree looked awesome and amazing.
"Not yet!" Maya said, closing the door behind her. She came rushing in the room with a box with a few more baubles. She pulled one out and gave it to Noah. Slayzes noticed it had his name on it.
"Here you go, Riley." Maya gave her a bauble with her name on it. She turned to Slayzes and said, "Ever since Riley was born, she has had her own bauble for Christmas. We then made Noah one before his first Christmas. And now, I'm passing on the tradition. So you get one." Maya pulled out a bauble with Slayzes's name on it.
He had never felt so welcomed and loved in his whole life.
Later that afternoon, Noah and Slayzes went to the park. Noah wanted to practise his soccer skills. He played in weekly games with his friends and sometimes at school on special weekends. He was getting ready for his next game and had asked Slayzes if he could help with some training.
"So how long have you been playing soccer, Noah?" Slayzes asked, trapping the ball with his foot and kicking it back to Noah.
Noah trapped the ball and stopped. "Four or five years," he answered. He then kicked the ball back to Slayzes.
"Do you like it?"
"Yes."
"Can you balance the ball on your head?" Slayzes asked as he kicked the ball up and caught it.
"No. Can you?"
"Let's see!" Slayzes balanced it on his head for about thirty seconds, it was quite easy. He learned how to do this trick when he was younger. His dad taught him.
Once he finished, Noah literally begged Slayzes to teach him. So for the next half an hour, Slayzes was teaching Noah how to balance the soccer ball on his head. He got the hang of it, but it would only last for about five seconds. But still, he was getting better.
Slayzes and Noah decided that it was time to walk home. It was around four-thirty and Slayzes wanted to spend some time with Riley before helping Maya with dinner. Tonight was a salad with rice, scrambled egg and chicken on the side.
"So Riley is having a baby?" Noah asked.
"Yeah. Are you OK with it?"
"Why does she have to be pregnant?" He snapped, ignoring Slayzes's answer and question.
Slayzes stopped walking and turned to Noah. He placed a hand on his shoulder and said, "We can't control this thing, Noah. One day you could be in my place."
"But I don't want a share house with a baby!" He shouted. "They are loud and stupid!"
"Noah. That isn't a nice thing to say," Slayzes said calmly.
"I don't care! Why did Riley decide to have a baby in her? Why didn't she wait! I hate this!"
"I can't exactly tell you, but Riley couldn't really pick if she wanted a baby."
"Why did you want a baby! They are the most annoying things ever!" Noah began to pick up the pace, walking much faster than Slayzes.
