Who would have thought flowering arranging could be so darn stressful? I didn't I thought after you picked out the venue, location and the colour scheme everything else was supposed to be easy and would you know just fall into place....Hell I couldn't have been more wrong. Bryan said he would be happy with anything I picked out for the flowers seeing as it was mainly for my bouquet and the bridesmaids. I know what your thinking - it was sweet of him to say and reassure me but, the way I am feeling right now I would have loved nothing more than for him to just take the decision from me and say 'here, this is what we are going to have.'
Quinn has been incredible through everything putting up with my indecisiveness and trying to calm me down. I really haven't been that easy to deal with today in particular. Who would have thought Skylar Rivers was sort of becoming a bridezilla. I make a mental note to buy her something as a thank-you and an apology for dealing with my silly ass.
Quinn 'Okay. I think we should hit pause on this and go grab something to eat. Maybe the break will help you relax and give you some perspective?' she asks as she looks through some different coloured roses.
Skylar 'I really want to get this sorted before we leave.'
Quinn 'Okay, how about this. We ask the florist for some help. Maybe if you tell her the colour scheme and what flowers you like she can put something together for us to look at in a couple of days?'
Skylar 'Really? Do you think they would do that?'
Quinn nods her head before calling the florist over to us. How is she so calm during all of this whilst I'm standing beside her, red as a beetroot from the stress and the hot weather?
Florist 'Hello ladies, my name is Gilly. How can I help you?'
Quinn 'Hi, I'm Quinn and this is my friend Sky. She's the bride to be. We are looking for a combination bouquet for both her bouquet and the bridesmaids.'
Gilly 'Okay and do you know what your looking for?'
Skylar 'No, that seems to be my problem. I've never been that great with all of this and I just want to make the day perfect. Not just for me but for my husband'
Gilly 'Your adorable. How about you write down here (hands post it note) what colours you'd like or any particular flowers you like and leave it with me. I'll need about 2 hours to put something together.'
Skylar 'Thank-you so much Gilly'
With the help from Quinn I manage to give Gilly some colours that I'd like to have within the bouquets and point out a few flowers that I liked, I think she called them Hawaiian Gardenia, Pikake, Hibiscus, Bird of Paradise and special Hawaiian Lily.
I give her my number so she can text us when she is finished before we gather our things and head out of the shop. The fresh mid morning breeze hits us, cooling us down and starting to brush away the built up stress.
I link my arm with Quinn's as we make our way down the street towards a small bistro. We are instantly taken to a private booth near the back of the resturant. As we place down our things and settle in we are stopped by a girl and her boyfriend, they both must have been early twenties.
Girl 'Sorry to interrupt you but could I get a photo with you Sky. You have been my idol for years. The why you can just write about life so honestly on your blog and your music it's just remarkable.'
Skylar 'Of course we can but you forgot something really important'
Girl 'I did?'
Skylar 'Yes, your name.'
