Chapter 1: Prologue

Hi guys my name is Y/N Y/M/N James Romanoff-Barnes, and four months ago myself and the other Avengers saved the universe from Thanos.

Four months ago was also when Steve Rogers went back to live in the 1940s and retried from being Captain America, and he handed me the shield, and passed on the mantle of Captain America on to me.

As much as I am honoured and surprised that he chose me, I just can't do it. I can't be Captain America I could never live up to the legacy of Captain America. What hurts the most about is that as a kid I always wanted to be Captain America, but now that its actually happened I'm afraid I won't be good enough and I'll let people down.

Because of this I have decided to hand the shield over to the government. The other's have been understanding about this, aside from dad ever since I've decided to do this he's stopped talking to me.

But good news in turns of my personal life is Sam and I have been working with the Air Force as partners for the past three months. Wanda and I are doing great, we're enjoying married life and the baby is still all good Wanda is four months along currently.

Anyway now that I've caught you up on all the big things that have happened it's time to get back into the story.
