Chapter 23: Celebrating

(Five days later)

(Mayland, Baltimore)

Y/N's P.O.V

So five days after the events of New York Sam and I head back to Baltimore to see Isaiah Bradley as we have a surprise waiting for him in Washington.

We join Isaiah in his backyard as he deals with his plants.

Isaiah: I saw what you did out there Y/N, and it's seems so did everyone else. I heard the GRC was standing down on those plans of theirs. So you must have done somethin' right.

He then looks at me face to face.

Isaiah: I ain't gonna lie son. You're special.

Y/N: Thank you.

He looks to Sam.

Isaiah: And by the looks of things you have a great partner.

Y/N: Yes I do.

Sam: Well I do my best.

Isaiah: So, you're the new Captain America huh?

Y/N: Damn right.

He smiles at this.

Isaiah: The fight you're taking on ain't gonna be easy Y/N.

Y/N: Yeah, I know that, but the things worth fighting for never are. I'm doing my best to make sure that what happened to you never happens to anyone ever again.

He seems to stutter a bit.

Isaiah: Damn. I almost bought that.

Sam and I both chuckle.

Sam: Man, do you ever lighten up?

Eli: Nah. Mm-mmm.

Y/N: Hey, you should go get cleaned up. Sam and I have something we wanna show you.

Isaiah head back into the house.

Eli: So, where we going?

I smile.

Y/N: Just follow us, you'll find out kid.

(The next day)

(Washington D.C)

Sam, Isaiah, Eli and I walk around around Captain America museum.

Sam and I take the two to a new section of the museum which is completely dedicated to Isaiah Bradley, and what he did during the Korean War.

Sam: Now no-one will ever forget what you did for this country. Never.

Isaiah: You two did this for me?

We both nod.

Y/N: Yep. Just consider it a gift, from one Captain America to another. Because whether you like or not, you've earned the right to be called it.

He smiles at me and hugs both Sam and I.

(One week later)

(Louisiana)

(A/N: I've added this to set the mood.)

One week later Wanda and I head down to Louisiana to join Sam and his family and friends in a celebration.

I start taking pictures with some of the locals, as a lot of them wanted to meet the new Captain America.

Then both mum and dad show up, and dad starts play fighting with Sam's nephews. Mum comes over to Wanda, Sam and I and hugs us with dad joining in.

Mum and I watch as dad socialising with Sam's sister and letting the kids hang on his metal arm. We both agree that this is the happiest we've seen dad in a long time. He's finally at peace.

Later on as the sun starts to set I see mum talking to Wanda with her hand on the baby bump. I then go over to the edge of the waterfront and watch the sun slowly set.

As I'm standing there looking out at the water I feel two people tap each of my shoulders.

I look left to see dad and look right to see Sam on the other side. I smile as I have both my partners here with me.

The three of us smile and look out at the sun set for a moment and turn and walk back to the party together.

We're not the Scarlet Spider, the Falcon and the Winter Soilder anymore.

We're now Captain America, the Falcon and the Winter Soilder.
