A Flicker of Redemption

Chapter 41

A/N: This is the official end of this book. I ran out of ideas for it. I'm sorry this chapter is so short as I wrapped up the book. I hope you enjoy it!

Just as Chibs promised, he helped Angelika learn how to drive with the help of Lyla and Lyla's car. The younger blond was ecstatic when she earned her driver's license making Happy kiss her forehead. Gemma and Chibs both congratulated her when she returned to the lot with Lyla after taking her tests. After work while Happy was winding down with a beer or two in the clubhouse, or sometimes if he was still out on club business, Chibs helped Angelika earn her GED. She was a fast learner so her studies went by rather quickly. He was sure she was a gifted young woman going by how fast she picked things up and how well she did on all her exams. Gemma and Lyla congratulated her when she took her final exams and passed earning her GED.

Chibs and Happy worked together to find her a car that she liked and wasn't too expensive so she could drive herself to work and to the store when she needed to. Things were relatively normal for Angelika and Happy. Most days he took her to work if he knew he'd be getting off at the normal quitting time. If there were problems or he thought he'd be late getting home, he had her drive herself to work. Once she got off work, she either headed home with him or drove herself. She'd immediately start on dinner. Sometimes she had to eat alone since he was still out on club business but most nights they ate together quietly watching TV as they did. He always complimented her on her cooking although she was sure he was just being nice to her.

She discovered Happy had an almost insatiable sexual appetite and that she didn't mind it at all. Once he showed her the joys of sex with a partner who cares for and loves you, it changed her whole world! Sometimes he was slow and gentle showing a much softer side to the normally gruff and moody man and other times he was aggressive and dominating. She loved not knowing which side of him she was going to get. Sometimes he woke up and immediately got things going with her. Sometimes they'd be watching TV after dinner and the mood would strike him and he'd have to have her right then. Other times he'd take her home during their lunch break for a quickie. They had sex all over their house not caring who knew it. She was almost always sporting love marks all over her body and it made Gemma shake her head and Tig laugh.

She began to open up to Quinn the longer she was around. There was an almost gentleness to the burly biker that she found she liked and trusted. She still hated Tara and shot go-to-hell looks at the doctor anytime they had to be around one another. She was even friendlier towards Tig as she slowly got to know him. She wasn't sure she could trust him but she didn't mind being around him as much as she used to when she was first hired to work in the office. Of all the bikers, she was closest with Chibs after she opened up to him. He looked after her more like his daughter than just a brother's 'ol lady. She had Happy do a few more tattoos on her which he always loved doing and always led to sex afterwards.

She hated lockdowns and being stuck in the clubhouse with all these other women and bikers. Normally she'd stick close to Happy and Chibs, or Quinn or Tig if Happy & Chibs weren't available, when they had to go on lockdown. Gemma always had her helping with the meals to try and teach her more about cooking and baking in the process. She was friendly towards Lyla although she remained guarded around the older blond since she was still weary of trusting other women. When the lockdowns were finally lifted, she always wanted to head straight home and bask in their personal space with her 'ol man.

Jax was still trying to get them away from all the illegal activities and into more legitimate business ventures that would be low-risk and still net them good money for the club. Bobby handled all the books and made sure things were on the up-and-up even at the porn studio. Happy didn't care one way or the other as long as he could pay his bills and have money to set aside. To do that, he sometimes took outside contracts on people. She hated knowing he was doing something illegal to keep their bills paid and wished she could do something to help but he never wanted her to pay for anything. He was very good at what he did and was never caught. Happy even did protection runs for Unser to earn extra cash to make sure he could keep Angelika happy and with spending money for when Gemma took her out on shopping trips.

Gemma threw one of her famous family dinners. Angelika rode on the back of Happy's bike with him to Gemma's place. Several of the guys had already arrived so when they walked in the house, they greeted one another with man-hugs. They all nodded towards her making her smile and nod back. Happy swatted her butt and told her to go see if Gemma needed any help as he took a freshly lit joint from Bobby. Dinner was just about done according to the Matriarch but needed the table set. As Angelika was setting the elongated table, she realized she had somehow been adopted by this strange but large family. For so long she'd thought families were bad as she had run away from hers or what was left of hers. Then she was discovered by Gemma and then adopted into the family when she hooked up with Happy. It baffled her at just how different her life was turning out than what she expected it to be.
