"Pete?" you mumbled as you opened your eyes. You didn't feel him in bed next to you so you got up and walked around the basement area to look for him. When you didn't find him downstairs, you threw on a pair of sweatpants and walked up to the common area to find Amy in the kitchen.
"Good morning, Amy. Do you know where Pete is?"
Amy looked up at you with a slight frown on her face, "He left a few minutes ago."
"Oh, is everything okay?" you asked. You could tell that something was wrong but you didn't want to pry too much.
"No, Pete's having one of his bad days. He stormed out of the house and I don't know if he'll be back before he has to be at Studio 8H."
"Shit," you said under your breath. Pete hadn't had an episode since the two of you had met so you didn't know what to do at this moment, "Should I call him?"
"No, just leave him alone for now. If he comes back you can try to comfort him, but right now, it's best just to let him be."
"Okay," you said with a nod of your head. You knew it would be difficult to not reach out to Pete, but you remembered what you had said the day he asked you to be his girlfriend about giving him space, and you knew that you had to leave him alone, no matter how hard it was.
"Are you hungry?" Amy asked.
You nodded your head, "Yeah."
"Do you want to go out for breakfast together? It might help take our mind off of Pete."
"Yeah, that would be nice."
"Okay, just give me a few minutes to get ready. I'll meet you back down here."
You gave Amy a soft smile before she walked upstairs. You went back down to the basement to change into some jeans and a sweater that you had packed in your overnight bag. You threw on some boots that you had also brought along before heading upstairs.
"Ready?" Amy asked you.
"Yeah," you said as the two of you walked out the front door and got into Amy's car.
"Feel free to control the music, honey. I don't want to bore you with my tunes."
You let out a soft laugh, "I'm sure your music is great, Amy."
Amy drove to a cute little café and the two of you ordered coffee and pastries before sitting down at a table.
"This is nice. I like spending time with you, Y/N."
You blushed at Amy's comment, "Thanks, Amy. I really enjoy spending time with you too. I'm not used to having such good relationships with my boyfriends' moms."
"That's too bad. It can be a difficult relationship dynamic, but when it works out, it's a really beautiful thing."
You smiled at Amy as the two of you ate breakfast, holding a casual conversation between bites. You were pretty sure that both of you were thinking about Pete in the back of your mind, but talking with each other helped calm your nerves a bit which you were thankful for.
