"Pete, you're going to tire yourself out," you said as Pete ran up the snow-covered hill.
"Don't worry, the adrenaline will keep me going," Pete yelled back as you followed slowly behind him, trudging up the steep hill in your winter boots.
You shook your head as you laughed at how excited Pete was about going sledding. The two of you were heading back to New York in a few hours so you had decided to take Pete to an area near your childhood house that was a prime sledding location. You had gone numerous times when you were a kid and you were excited to show it to Pete.
"Don't go up too high. Otherwise, we'll run into the trees down there," you said.
"It's worth the risk. I don't get to go sledding that often living in Staten Island and all."
"Okay, but if we get hurt, you're taking all of the blame," you said.
"It's a deal," Pete said with a laugh as he continued running up the hill with the sled that had been sitting in the garage back at the house.
After a few more minutes, Pete stopped and waited for you to catch up. Once you reached him, the two of you sat down on the sled with Pete in the back and you in the front.
"Ready?" Pete asked as he wrapped his arms around your waist.
"No, but let's do it!" you exclaimed.
Pete lifted his feet up and the sled started moving down the hill. You let out a scream as it picked up speed and Pete started laughing at you all while holding you close to him.
"Shit, look out for that rock!" you yelled as the two of you got towards the bottom of the hill. You leaned to the right in an attempt to steer the sled away from the obstacle but you were too late and it hit the rock, throwing both of you off of the sled and onto the snow-covered ground with your body on top of Pete's.
Pete started laughing and you couldn't help but join in. Neither of you was hurt but the sled was completely destroyed.
"Why do I agree to your crazy antics?" you asked sarcastically.
"Because you love me," Pete said with a cheesy grin.
You leaned down to kiss your boyfriend and he grabbed your face in both of his mitten-covered hands.
"You're right, I love you, Pete."
"I love you too, Y/N," Pete said before he pulled you in for another kiss.
"I hope that one ride was worth it because that sled isn't going to be much help anymore," you said with a laugh.
"One ride was perfect, let's make snow angels!" Pete exclaimed.
"What are you, five years old?" you asked jokingly.
"No, I'm a twenty-seven-year-old that likes making snow angels. Sue me," Pete said as he gently pushed you off of him so that he could move his arms and legs in the snow.
