"Cheers to Galentine's Day!" Aspen said as she raised her mimosa. You, Tessa, Raven, and Jess did the same, clinking glasses before taking sips of the orange concoction.
You were at brunch with your three best friends and Raven's girlfriend, Jess. This was the first time that the three of you were meeting her, and so far, it was going great. Jess fit in right away and she and Raven were absolutely precious together.
"So, what's everyone doing for Valentine's Day tomorrow?" Tessa asked.
"Raven is cooking me dinner," Jess said.
"Lucky! Raven is an amazing cook," you said.
"Hey, at least you actually get to spend Valentine's Day with your significant other," Aspen said to Jess, "Y/N's boyfriend is leaving her all alone."
You knew from Aspen's tone that she was joking about Pete's absence for the past week as he was filming a movie in Hollywood, but you still felt the need to defend the man in question.
"You make him sound like an asshole," you said with a laugh, "He's filming a movie in California this week. He asked me like a thousand times if it was okay that he was gone for Valentine's Day and I assured him that I would be more than okay. I mean, I get to see all of you the day before which is pretty freaking sweet!"
"Hell yeah, it is!" Raven exclaimed, "When is he getting back?"
"It's kind of up in the air but it sounds like in a few days or so."
"Geez, no Valentine's Day sex?" Tessa asked.
You laughed at your friend's question, "Nope, not this year. I'm sure we'll make up for the missed holiday when he gets home though."
"Oooh, you should send him some scandalous photos for Valentine's Day. Give him a reminder of what's waiting for him on the other side of the country," Aspen suggested with a wink.
"That's genius, Aspen!" Tessa yelled a little bit too loud.
You couldn't help but giggle at the excitement from your friends, "Fuck, I haven't taken nudes for a hot minute but I'll try."
"We can help you! Photoshoot at my apartment after brunch?" Aspen suggested.
"Hell yeah!" Tessa exclaimed, followed by similar comments from you, Raven, and Jess.
