You tried to act calm and composed as you felt your legs go numb beneath you, threatening to give out completely if you tried to take even one step in any direction. As much as you wanted to break the eye contact and look away, you couldn't take your eyes off of Pete. It didn't help that he also wouldn't take his eyes off of you, leaving the two of you in what must have looked like a ridiculous staring contest that neither of you was willing to lose.

"Y/N, this is Pete. He decided to come and hang out with everyone after being cooped up in Colson's dressing room for god knows how long," Megan laughed, causing you to snap your head towards her, breaking the eye contact between you and Pete.

Pete got up from his seat on the couch, reaching his arm out to shake hands, "Hey, I'm Pete. It's nice to meet you, Y/N."

"It's nice to meet you too," you responded with a smile on your face.

Pete went to sit back down on the couch and you noticed that Raven had moved next to Aspen, leaving only one spot left, and of course, it was next to Pete. You made your way to the couch, sitting down in between Pete and Raven. You felt Raven nudge you in the side with her elbow which earned her a quick side glare from you.

"So, are all of you from New York City?" Colson asked you and your friends, attempting to start a conversation after everyone had to watch you and Pete stare at each other for what seemed like hours.

You didn't even try to listen to the responses that your friends gave to Colson's question. Instead, you were focused on the fact that you were sitting right next to Pete Davidson. Your heart was racing so you took some deep breaths to keep yourself from passing out.

Pete could tell that you were nervous and that you weren't exactly invested in the conversation at hand. He turned towards you, deciding to try some small talk, "I like the all-black get-up."

You looked up, your face inches away from Pete's, "Thanks. I was afraid that it would be too much but hey it's a punk concert right?"

"Exactly! My favorite part is the leather jacket."

"Funny you say that because I almost didn't wear it. I threw it on at the last minute and thanks to some insightful opinions from my friends, it made the final cut."

"Well, I'm glad it did. It looks really good," Pete noted, smiling down at you.

You felt your cheeks heating up for what felt like the one hundredth time tonight but instead of looking away this time, you kept eye contact with Pete, smiling at him before thanking him for the compliment.

"Any time. Hey, it looks like you and your friends could use some refills on your drinks. I also need one so do you want to head over to the food and drink tables and grab some for everyone?" Pete asked, seeing that every bottle or cup on the table was nearly empty.

"Yeah, that sounds good. I might need some help carrying my friends' drinks though. I don't trust myself to carry four drinks without spilling at least half of the contents on the floor."
