"As much as I hate to encourage my son and your daughter to do this, CEO Yoo, the marriage would not only strengthen our partnership, but also bring extremely beneficial publicity to both of our companies." The man finished his sentence with a grim face before taking a sip of his long-cold coffee, raising his eyes to meet those of the woman in front of him, the head of YOO Enterprises, Ms Yoo.
"I agree with you, CEO Park. If nurtured, this partnership could bring massive growth to our branches, and allow us to expand further. It just comes down to whether the benefits out-way the negative aspects, and if we are willing to sacrifice our children for the cause. How do you feel about the situation, darling?" The woman smiled at her husband, motioning for him to state his opinion.
The gruff voice belonging to Mr. Yoo entered the conversation. "With all due respect, CEO Park, Ms Park, but this is bullshit. I don't think that our Jeongyeon will enjoy spending the rest of her days with your son... Jimin?"
Jimin's father nodded.
"I doubt that your son would enjoy it either," concluded the chef.
Ms Park joined the discussion. "Your daughter attended Korean Arts High School, right?"
She received nods from the pair sitting opposite her.
"Then I was right. My son had a girlfriend in high school named Jeongyeon, and coincidentally, he also attended KAHS. So, they already know each other, which shouldn't make things too difficult. They wouldn't have to spend much time getting to know each other."
Mr. Yoo sighed.
"I disagree, Ms Park. They broke up too, no? There must have been a reason. Jeongyeon was staying with a fellow trainee at the time, so my wife and I did not see her daily, and I unfortunately cannot give a definite statement about their relationship."
CEO Yoo grimaced at her husband before glancing at the Parks. "Honey, I know how you feel, but I really do think that this marriage will be hugely beneficial for the partnership between YOO Enterprises and Park Corporation."
"How about we vote on it?" She said. "All in favour of the marriage, please raise your hand."
Three hands were lifted into the air. Only Mr. Yoo remained scowling with his hands in his lap, shaking his head.
"Then it's settled. I'm sorry, Mr. Yoo, but this is for the best. Let's organise to meet with JYP and BigHit later. Please do not hesitate to contact me, CEO Yoo."
Both couples stood up and exited the warm coffee shop, stepping out into the frigid February air, failing to notice the fair skinned, snickering girl in the booth beside them hit 'stop' on her recording.
