Taehyung and Jimin had just shut the door when they heard deafening shouting through the wall."What on Earth were you thinking?!"
"What did I do?"
"Don't you want Jimin to respect you?!"
The shrill cries were replaced with inaudible, hushed whispers that the boys could barely hear. Taehyung walked over to the wall and pressed his ear against it, much to Jimin's displeasure. As rude as the older boy was to others, he didn't approve of eavesdropping.
"Nayeon's scolding Jeongyeon." Tae still had his head smooshed against the wall.
Jimin sat on the bed, crossing his legs. "Why?"
"For pushing you into the bushes early." He paused. "And for being rude. She's saying that Jeongyeon has to improve her attitude towards you or she'll be upset."
The murmuring ceased.
"I think Jeongyeon's sad now... We should probably let them sort this out themselves."
Jimin unfolded his legs and lay down, getting comfortable on the bed. "Probably. I don't want be caught in the middle."
His friend joined him on the mattress. "You should work on your attitude too, mister. At least Jeongyeon's funny when she's rude. You either piss everyone off or are way too scary."
Rolling his eyes, Jimin turned onto his stomach. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, Tae. Tell you what, if Jeongyeon stops being annoying, I'll make an effort to be less-"
"Park Jimin!!"
The door to their shared room was flung open by a red faced Nayeon.
"How dare you have the fucking audacity to hurt Jeongyeon?! We aren't even living together yet! I swear to god, if you don't apologize right now..." She was huffing with rage.
Jimin jumped to his feet, eyes flashing while Taehyung sat there with a slack jaw, dumbfounded at his new friend's change of tone.
"Jesus, lady, calm your farm! What did I do this time?!"
Nayeon marched up to the protesting Jimin and grabbed his collar, pulling him down so she could look him in the eyes. "It hasn't been a day and you've already left a mark on her." She hissed. He gave her a quizzical look, and she continued. "Five ugly bruises on her forearm already."
"When did this happen?!"
The girl took a deep breath and let go of his shirt. "When you forcefully dragged her across the road, genius. Now she has your tiny-ass red handprint on her arm. It's already starting to yellow!"
Jimin shot her a scathing look. "Bruises don't form that fast. And besides, I didn't even pull her that hard!" He folded his arms in defiance.
Nayeon sighed and ran out the door, returning five seconds later with a baffled Jeongyeon in tow. "It's just a bruise, Nayeon-unnie!!"
Ignoring her friend's words, she thrust her into Jimin, knocking him off balance.
He regained his composure and stood facing Jeongyeon, dumbfounded. "So, where's this bruise?"
Huffing furiously, Nayeon gently grabbed the youngest's hand and extended it towards Jimin. He held onto her arm gingerly and scoffed. "It's not my fault she has weak capillaries."
"Yeah, Nayeon-unnie. I love you, but I think you're overreacting a little. It'll fade in a few days." Jeongyeon withdrew her hand from Jimin and looked at the eldest.
Nayeon shifted her weight and scowled. "What about the other members?"
"It's winter, I'll just wear a long sleeve shirt and say I'm cold. Besides, we're moving out, right? They won't see us as often." Jeongyeon smiled sadly. "If it makes you feel any better, I'll bandage my arm to a heating pack to increase circulation." She shuffled out into the kitchen.
The eldest grabbed Jimin's collar again and pulled him towards her. "Don't make a habit of this, Jimin. Remember, I have another seven members back at the dorm, including your sister. And they all love Jeongyeon. A lot. Watch it."
She pushed him backward so he tumbled onto the bed and stalked out of the room.
Jimin angrily thumped the mattress in dissatisfaction while Taehyung laughed at him. "Damn, you just got told, bro. She's really something, isn't she?"
"If by something you mean hellish she-demon with a protective streak, sure."
Tae rubbed his back. "You should probably be grateful that Jeongyeon took your side. Otherwise Nayeon would've killed you."
The older man sighed. "I suppose..."
"What's it been," Taehyung looked at his watch. "Four hours since you saw Jeongyeon in person for the first time in seven years? And you've already bruised her!"
"Shut up Tae, I don't wanna hear it. I didn't realise I was pulling her that hard." Jimin rubbed his temples. "You talking about it just makes me feel guilty."
Tae got up and walked over to the entrance. "You should apologize. It might help to ease the guilt, yeah? And Nayeon will get over it much faster if you do."
He opened the door and walked out to meet the other girls, leaving Jimin on the bed, feeling guilty, annoyed, and irritated. Letting out a yelp of frustration, he hurled open the door and walked over the kitchen, swallowing his pride as he prepared to apologize to Jeongyeon.
