"Yah!" Jin barged into Jimin's room and furiously clipped him over the year. The man winced in pain before leaping out of his desk chair."Ow, you bitch. That hurt!" He rubbed his ear and scowled.
Jin scoffed. "I think Jeongyeon was harmed much more today than you were."
Jimin's jaw dropped. "B-but-" He paused and sat down on the bed, rolling his eyes. "You know what? Yell at me all you want. I don't care anymore. I should probably just get used to it. You're all going to take her side regardless of who's right or wrong."
Sighing, the older man walked over to his friend. "Look, I'm aware that you and Jeongyeon have your differences. But you need to realise that if neither of you try to be friendly, you're both going to be miserable in the future.
"I know..." Jimin groaned and rolled onto his side, curling up into a foetal position before spreading his limbs like a star fish. "But she's just so irritating!"
"And you aren't?"
"Oi!" Jimin smacked Jin on the arm. "Jeongyeon is... I don't know."
Jin cackled. "You don't know?" He cracked his knuckles and flexed his fingers. "Some future husband you are." He sat down on the ottoman at the base of Jimin's bed.
"Give me a break. I've only seen her a few times since high school." He contemplated the memory. "Probably best I forget that bit too."
"Fair enough." Jin frowned for a moment, before his face lit up. "Okay. I'll ask you some questions about her and you can answer! Or at least infer." He cleared his throat. "What's her favourite colour?"
"Why the fuck would I know?"
"Wrong answer buddy. Try again."
Jimin dragged a hand over his face in exasperation. "I don't know... green maybe? She seems like a green kinda person. You know, someone who's healthy, likes plants, that kinda shit."
"Maybe. Her representative colour is yellow green, so you might not be that far off..." Jin rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"How the hell do you know that?"
Jin rolled his eyes. "None of your business. Next question! What's her favourite food?"
Having learnt his lesson, Jimin tried to answer his friend properly. "Hmm... Tteokbokki? Again, she just seems like that kinda person. I vaguely recall her eating it in high school. Key word being vaguely."
"Doesn't matter. Do you have an aversion to the colour green or tteokbokki?"
Confused, Jimin hesitated before answering. "...No?"
Jin cleared his throat. "There you go! Things you don't dislike about her!" He paused for a moment before continuing, much more severely. "Now, you're going to get your act together, Park Jimin."
"What do you mean?"
The older man sat up straighter. "Learn a little respect, be a good person, you know, normal human things that you don't display." He laughed at Jimin's disdainful expression. "It's not hard. I'll help you. But a healthy, friendly relationship will be much better for you and Jeongyeon, rather than a toxic, stone cold one."
"I..." Jimin trailed off. "I have nothing to say to that."
Jin laughed and clapped his hands cheerfully. "Terrific! We start your training now!"
"Training? What training?"
"To be the perfect partner, of course!"
