After a few hours of Nayeon and Taehyung mediating the conversation, they'd finally come up with a basic set of rules for living together. It was decided it would be the two present who would move in with Jeongyeon and Jimin, as they'd already become good friends in a short window of time.Writing down all the rules in her neat handwriting, Nayeon then cleared her throat and put down her chopsticks to read out the drafted list.
"Rule One: Respect everyone's privacy. No one is allowed to enter someone else's room without their consent. Even when it comes to cleaning." She eyeballed Jeongyeon, who poked out her tongue.
"Rule Two: Do your own laundry. We don't want to touch your stinky shirts, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to touch our clothes at certain times at the month." Nayeon smirked at Jeongyeon's mortified expression, Jimin's look of disgust and Taehyung's laughter.
"Rule Three: Whoever cooks the main meal doesn't have to do the dishes. Cause let's be real, that's just mean." Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Rule Four: Don't eat someone else's food without permission. If this one catches you," the older girl nudged Jeongyeon, "shit will hit the fan before you've even swallowed." Nayeon smiled to herself and stopped reading.
Jimin glanced up to look at her. "Do you mind if I add another rule?"
She slid the paper and pen across the table.
The man quickly scribbled something down and read it aloud. "Rule Five: There's a nine 'o'clock curfew."
Everyone else was fast to protest, but Jimin shut them down.
"Just hear me out, okay? We need a way to keep everyone and the apartment safe. I'm not saying that you can't be out after that hour, but just notify us if you are. That way we don't have to fret about people coming home late or not knowing who's entering the house. I personally don't care what you're doing, as long as you text us."
Nayeon was the first to agree. "That's actually not a bad idea, coming from you. But I reckon we should extend the curfew another hour. Our schedules are too hectic for nine."
"Ten o'clock?" Tae clarified. He received a nod. "I can work with that."
Nayeon sighed at looked at her friend, who remained silent, staring at her clasped hands resting in her lap. "Please don't tell me you're choosing to be stubborn right now."
Jeongyeon leant back in her chair and folded her arms, avoiding eye contact with the other three. "Isn't it a little invasive? We should be able to come back at whatever time we want without-"
"You're missing the point, Yoo. It's not an invasion of privacy. You can comeback anytime you want as long as you text someone." Jimin arched an eyebrow at Jeongyeon.
"But..."
"Oh look, she's run out of things to say already." Nayeon smirked. "So, are you in or not?"
"... Fine." Jeongyeon let out an exasperated sigh, sinking even further into her seat.
The group of idols were plunged into another bout of awkward silence. Sick of the uneasy feeling, Tae broke it.
"Does the apartment allow pets?"
Jimin scoffed. "I swear to god, Tae, if you bring that retched mutt with you I will personally dye his fur bright pink."
The younger man's eyes widened in surprise. "What did my Yeontan ever do to you? And we both know he'd be able to pull off the pink so it's just your loss." He sniffed indignantly.
Nayeon interrupted Taehyung with a squeal so high Jeongyeon winced. "Do you have dog?"
Tae beamed. "I do! His name's Yeontan and he's a literal angel. You should meet him, even if he can't come to the apartment!"
Jimin gagged. "Angel? More like a deranged devil with a fetish for ruining expensive apparel."
Jeongyeon accidentally let a giggle slip, and quickly covered it up with a disapproving scowl. Nayeon gave her a knowing look.
"I wouldn't mind if he ate my entire collection of designer clothes. I'd love to meet Yeontan, Tae. If the apartment thing doesn't work out, maybe we can organize something else, okay?"
Taehyung nodded happily.
A more comfortable quiet ensued while they ate, before Nayeon remembered something.
"Are you Jennie's brother?"
The man glanced up at her sheepishly. "I am. I haven't talked to her in a few weeks, though. I should probably get onto that."
Jeongyeon finally actively joined the conversation. "I'd say definitely. I was chatting with her a couple of days ago, and she was pissed because you hadn't returned her favourite limited edition Gucci bucket hat that you apparently borrowed months ago. She wanted to wear it to an interview last week."
Taehyung winced. "Oops. I took it to America, and never gave it back. It's been sitting on my coat rack for a while now..."
The trio laughed, while Jimin glared at Tae. He'd brought him for emotional support, not to make friends with two strangers!
Finishing their meal, they all exchanged numbers before heading outside.

"So now what?" Jeongyeon stretched and turned to look at Jimin blankly.
"Well what do you want to do? This is supposed to be a 'date', isn't it?" He sneered.
Taehyung quickly stepped in to break things up again. "Yikes Jimin, being polite won't kill you. She just asked a simple question." Jimin flipped him off, rolling his eyes.
Ignoring him, Nayeon began speaking. "Do either of you know if we can visit the apartment yet? I wanna check it out!"
Jeongyeon slid her phone out of her pocket and began typing rapidly. "I can check with my Mom. You boys don't have to stay. Nayeon and I are happy to go alone if you two are busy." She looked up from the screen to meet Jimin's scathing eyes and Tae's happy ones.
"Nah, I'll come! Jimin's been demoted from his position as best friend for his shocking display of manners towards you today, Jeongyeon. I'm looking for a new one." Taehyung held out his arm to Nayeon. "You want to be buddies?"
The girl beamed and linked her arm with his. "It would my pleasure." She turned to look at Jimin. "I guess it must suck to be second best. Looks like you'll have to work on your attitude if you want your friend back." Nayeon smirked and waltzed off down the street with Tae.
They didn't make it far before coming back with sheepish grins. "We didn't know which way to go."
Jeongyeon chuckled and looked down at her phone. "Hey, it's actually really close. It's two blocks that way." She pointed down the road in the opposite direction Tae and Nayeon had eloped in. She continued reading the message. "Ooh, it's a penthouse! C'mon, let's go. Last one there's a rotten egg." She bolted down the street, Nayeon and Taehyung stumbling after her, laughing. Jimin shrugged and ran off down the road.
All of them failed to notice the girl standing nearby, leaning against a traffic pole, smoking.
"Looks like there's going to be a celebrity marriage very soon." She let out a puff of smoke. "Well, not if I have anything to do with it." Stubbing out her cigarette, she quickly noted down the apartment's directions on the back of a receipt.
"Thought you were smart, Yoo Jeongyeon? Wearing your mask and someone else's clothes? Too bad I recognized your voice, slut. And now, I'm going to stop you from marrying my Jimin."
She smirked and turned away.
"Better look out for me, baby."
