eric was certain that his date wasn't coming by now. it was obvious by the fact that it had been four hours since they were meant to meet up and he still wasn't here. he honestly didn't know how to feel. he had gotten sympathetic looks and glances from other people in the café and it was making him feel even more pathetic.

"it was a stupid idea to go on this date anyway," eric muttered to himself before taking out his phone.

he quickly turned it on and called his best friend, feeling really embarrassed and awkward being here by himself. eric tapped his foot as he waited for the older to pick up and eventually he did, making eric relieved.

"what's up, eric?" chanhee asked.

"so... you know that date i told you about?" eric questioned.

chanhee replied. "yeah, is it finished already? how did it go?"

"umm... can you just come to the café i said i was meeting him at and then i'll explain," eric asked.

"of course! i'll be there in five," chanhee quickly answered before hanging up.

eric sighed as he waited for the older to show up. he was hoping he'd get here soon since he kept getting stared from people around him and it was making him even more embarrassed. chanhee got there in less than five minutes, and quickly rushed over to eric who was sat by himself. "so how did it go?"

"he didn't show up..." eric mumbled but chanhee still heard.

"well that little piece of shi―︎"

"hyung, stop. calm down. it's fine," eric interrupted him.

"but it's not! he ditched you! i can't just calm down, eric," chanhee scoffed and crossed his arms.

"please, hee," eric said. "it's fine. i'm just glad that you're here, okay?"

"fine..." he trailed off. "now, what can i do to make you feel better?"

"i'm not sure... just distract me," eric replied.

"hmmm, okay. first, let's get out of here," chanhee said and stood up, the younger doing the same and they both walked out of the café.

"now what?" eric asked, looking at chanhee.

chanhee frowned and thought for a moment before gasping and grabbing eric's hand. he pulled him and started running, shocking the other but he still ran as well so he could keep up with the older. as they started running, eric looked down at their hands. he felt his heart start to beat faster as he did so. be was confused... it must just be because they were running.

eventually they stopped running and they stopped in front of a park. eric immediately recognised it. him and chanhee used to go here all the time when they were young, but for some reason they stopped and never came back here again. it brought back so many memories.

he looked back down and noticed that they were still holding hands. he gulped as he still felt his heart beating fast. once again he though that it must of just been because they had been running and he was worn out.

"i missed coming here," chanhee suddenly said.

"really? why didn't you tell me? i thought that you didn't like coming here anymore...?" eric said.

"not liking coming here? i can't imagine not wanting to be here. it brings back so many memories and i miss when we used to play around here. even when we turned sixteen we would still play, and even though we got teased for it at school, we didn't care," chanhee smiled as he thought about it and eric couldn't help but stare at the older.

eric wasn't sure why, but for some reason he couldn't keep his eyes off of chanhee. he just wanted to stare at the other forever.

hang on a minute, what on earth was he thinking? why is he doing all these things? first it was his heart beating super fast. now it's him constantly staring at chanhee and finding it hard to look away. he was getting more and more confused as time went by.

"we can come here more often if you want. i've missed coming here as well to be honest," eric told him with a smile.

"really?!" chanhee exclaimed. "thank you, eric! i love you so much. you're literally the best friend anyone could ever have."

eric felt his heart drop after hearing that. his heart had been racing when he heard chanhee said that he loved him, but once he heard the word 'friend', he felt devastated. he was so confused on what was happening to him today. why was he acting like this? he shook it off and sat down next to chanhee on the bench. he sighed and stared at the sky when suddenly the older spoke.

"hey, eric," he started. "have you ever had a crush before?"

"no, why?" the younger said.

"wait, you haven't? it's literally the best feeling ever!" chanhee exclaimed.

"it is?" eric asked.

"yup!" he replied. "your heart always beats really fast whenever you touch them, especially when you hold hands. and you just can't take your eyes off them and want to stare at them forever because of how amazing and beautiful they are!"

eric's eyes widened. there's no way...

"but there are some bad things. like when they call you a friend. when they call you friend it makes you feel like your whole world just ended. you feel so devastated and pathetic," chanhee continued.

eric's mouth fell open as realisation hit him. the one thing he thought would never happen... happened. he had a crush on his best friend.

and he didn't know what to do...
