A/N: EVERYONE SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY GON!!
Here's just a few HCs what I think our boys birthday would be like/has been like in honor of Gon's special day :)
• This year for his birthday, I bet the other three all pitched in and got him a new fishing rod but instead of the tan grip wrap at the bottom, it was green. And it had his name engraved on it
• Gon has ALWAYS wanted a surprise party, but his senses are always too keyed in and he never gets surprised
• He absolutely loves inhaling the helium from balloons, as does Killua. Mito and Leorio are always yelling at them that it's bad for you
• I can see Gon really liking vanilla, strawberry, or carrot cake lmao
• Gon always writes people super thoughtful bday cards
• Gon wouldn't know who to invite to his party and would feel bad leaving anyone out so,he puts out a blast on the hunter website saying when and where his party is. Leorio and Kurapika and Killua show up a few minutes later screaming at him because wow, they have a lot of weird people after them
• Killua tried to buy him new clothes for his birthday but Gon didn't like any of them lmao
• Mito would always decorate the house head to toe for Gon's birthday- streamers, balloons, presents, cake, a banner, literally everything
• Gon's birthday is actually like a week long ordeal. Anytime anyone asks him to do something he doesn't want to do, he says, "but it's my birthday (in a few days or whatever)" and he's ALWAYS reminding everyone around him like, "hey guess what! My birthday is in X days!"
• I feel like Mito would be really into horoscopes and she's always saying how Gon is such a Taurus
• Gon gets really scared of balloons popping, especially because of his sensitive hearing
• Gon loves wearing party hats, and he's able to fit one right over one of the spikes in his hair lmao. He makes everyone who comes to his party wear them too
• Sad one: Every year Gon holds out hope that Ging will write him a card or call or even show up. But he never does
