I

On my jog to school I stopped to take a closer look at my neighborhood.
Being away from home for months had made me quite homesick for things I didn't think I was capable of missing.

-Quentin, you should hurry. -Said a female voice in my earphones, with a slight static and echo, as if she was talking through a broken radio.

It was Mal0, a creature who appeared overnight on my cell phone.
And it completely changed my life.

As I walked towards my destination, I remembered fragments of my adventures I had lived with the foundation.

-The kidnapping with the police car...
-The encounter with 682.
-The containment chamber, clearly a house in the middle of nowhere.

I lived there for a couple of months, with the company of Mal0 and 682.
From time to time some soldiers and scientists came to help them control some scp, but I always came back safe and sound.

Until...

-My second abduction.
-My escape.
-The...
-The Russian military...

-...

-The guy in the red beret....

I felt an emptiness in my stomach when I remembered that scene in the burning office.
I didn't want to remember it, it made my hands shake.
I know I did the right thing, but still...

-Quentin!

-Ow! -A voice in front of me shouted.

-Hah?!

Before I knew it I walked into a crowd and bumped into a person.

-I'm sorry, I'm still a little sleepy.

-Could you see where you're going? -She exclaimed with a smug tone.

It took me a few seconds to recognize her, it was Mia, the girl who agreed to help me with my foundation assignments.
Daughter of a scientist of the foundation who tried to kill me on several occasions.

She had short curly hair, I almost mistook her for a boy.
She was wearing her school uniform, although it was very disheveled and wrinkled.

-Did you fall asleep in your uniform? -I asked.

-Shut up.
-I was going to ask you if you got any messages from the foundation. -She whispered.

-...
-No.

-Okay, doesn't matter. -Was the only thing she said before going back into the crowd.

I really didn't understand what she had planned.

(She's really going to help me with the foundation tasks, even though she hates them?)

I really doubt that a girl with an anomaly in her cell phone can do much against the foundation, but the same could be said for me and Mal0.

The day went by with nothing in particular, and I returned home, exhausted from my completely normal day.

Mal0 materialized behind me and gave me a warm hug.

-I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. -She said with a laugh.

Her fur was so soft I could fall asleep hugging her.
Although the first time I met her, it was so messy and had so many knots in it that she couldn't even comb her hair.

-It feels good to be back home.... -She murmured, breaking her embrace.

-Mmhmm.
-Tell me, what do you want for lunch?
