I woke up and for a split second I couldnt see anything.

The inside of Quentin's phone was a very spacious place, it seemed to be mostly empty storage except for a few video game and music apps.

Sure, it was still pretty dark in here, but not as dark as it was before I met him.

...

Ever since I hurt Quentin that day, I've been afraid I would get sent back into that void again.

I know very well that he would never do it, he would never return me to the cold clutches of the foundation.

But I knew that the people working there would wait for us to make the even the slightest mistake, to contain me again, and they would show no mercy in doing so.

...

I sighed to calm down and clear my mind.

I don't need this now, it's too early to be thinking things like this.
It's just about time t--

[BEEP]

[BEEP]

That's his everyday alarm.

I wonder why he doesn't choose a more pleasant sound to wake up to, I wouldn't want to wake up to that unbearable beeping.

I could even wake him up myself, but I've never proposed it to him, I guess I should do it these days.
It would be better than his alarm clock, at least.

I woke up and took a look through his phone camera, the mess in his room was hard to miss.

Dirty clothes lying on the desk chair, and a couple of items of clothing on the floor.

And there he is, struggling to stay awake.

-Good morning, Quentin. -I greeted him through the speakerphone of his cell phone.

-Gwood m'wornin -He mumbled, opening one eye.

00000000000000000000000000000000000

I stopped looking through the cell phone camera as Quentin began to get dressed.
I still remembered his awkward explanation about modesty.

I still didin't understand a lot of things about humans, but I'm getting better.

...

Well, or so I'd like to think.

When I noticed, Quentin was sitting at the living room table, drinking coffee while nibbling on a ham sandwich, staring at nothing in particular.

After quickly checking to make sure no one was there, I concentrated and started materalizing myself.

I could never get used to the strange sensation that came with it.

It felt as if an electric shock ran through my whole body, causing intense but momentary pain.

My eyes, if they could be called that, took a few moments to adjust to the light of the real world.

-Good morning. -I mumbled, stretching my back.

-Good morning! -The boy answered, noticing my presence.
-Here. -He added, handing me a cheese sandwich.

-Ah, thank you very much!

It was very hard for me to look at his face, that scar running down his cheek was a constant reminder that I am, and always will be an anomaly.
