Huh?
I was a little confused, of all the files I was hoping to be able to open, this was not one of them.
-Good morning, little genius! -The figure on the screen exclaimed, holding out her arms.
-Geez, it's been so long since I've talked to someone, my hair must be a mess. -She muttered to herself, adjusting her red bow a bit.
The fluidity of her animations made me doubt that this program was created in 1999, as the copyright indicated.
Although her color palette left much to be desired, those bright colors of her clothes, reminiscent of old technology still made my eyes hurt.
I turned to look at Mal0, who seemed to be just as perplexed as I was, if not worse.
-What are your names, my dear students? -She asked, cocking her head to one side.
My blood froze for an instant, thinking that this computer program could actually see us.
But then I remembered that this type of software was used by teachers in large groups, so it would make sense that she would speak in the plural.
No text box appeared to type my name, and I stared at the screen for a few seconds, not knowing what to do.
-...
-Ah, how absent-minded I am! -She jumped up suddenly, as if she had been burned.
-I haven't introduced myself yet, I'm Miss Jane, but you can call me Miss J if you wish. -She said, bowing.
-Quentin, shouldn't you write your name? -Mal0 asked, pointing to the keyboard.
-No need to! -The program replied.
-I can hear you loud and clear.
Oh.
What an idiot I was, thinking a program couldn't have a mind of its own.
While I literally have a living example next to me, Mal0.
-A-Ah, I'm sorry. -I apologized immediately, I didn't want to upset the anomaly.
-No, it's okay! -exclaimed the teacher, holding out both arms.
-Sorry for scaring you, Quentin. -She apologized, lowering her gaze.
-I-I didn't know you could hear me, it's my fault. -I said, running a hand behind my neck.
-I didn't know that you could...
-You know...
-Talk to you? -She answered softly.
-Yes, that...
-Ehehehe...
-To be honest, I couldn't tell you why either.
-I've never talked to my creator. -She added, averting her gaze.
That comment made Mal0 move closer to the screen to better appreciate the anomaly.
-W-Well, we're going off the deep end. -The woman jumped in.
-What would you like to learn today, Quentin?
-Uhh...
-...
My mind was blank, I wasn't really interested in learning any subjects.
I used to fall asleep in math classes and history seemed really boring to me.
-...
-If you don't mind...
-I'd like to learn more about you, miss..-I asked timidly.
I needed to know if this anomaly could become dangerous, I didn't want a repeat of the pencil sharpener case.
-Oh!
-If that's what you want, I have no problem. -She said, smiling.
-Ah, thank you very much.
-Well, I've already introduced myself...
-I'm Miss Jane, and I'm a teacher.
