The rest of the night went smoothly, except that the ads on my phone wouldn't stop offering me self-help guides, something I might need, but refuse to get.
The next morning I woke up before the alarm clock.
With a great sense of superiority I went back to bed, only to be woken up by the alarm seconds later.
[BEEP, BEEP]
-Agh...
I turned off the alarm and managed to drag myself to the kitchen, to make myself a coffee.
Shortly after Mal0 appeared besides me, stretching and yawning.
-I'm still sleepy.. -She murmured as she hugged herself.
-You don't have to go with me, you know?
-You can stay here at home, sleeping.
-Ah...
Mal0 was silent for a few seconds, seriously contemplating whether to sleep over or not.
-I'd love to, but I have to come with you.
-I wouldn't want anything to happen to you while you're out.
-...
-Besides, I have to learn how you socialize, for tomorrow.
-I told you I'm not the best at socializing, or talking. -I sighed, shaking my head.
-It doesn't matter, you'll be a good example.
-Whatever you say, Mal0.... -I said turning to prepare my coffee.
-Do you want something to drink?
-As long as it's not coffee, anything...
As I poured some milk in my coffee I kept thinking, while looking at nothing in particular.
If Mal0's cranium is made of bone, and milk contains calcium.
If Mal0 drank a lot of milk, would the crack on her skull fix itself?
(I should sleep more.) -I said shaking my head.
I refrained from commenting on the matter and poured her a glass of milk, sitting down to have breakfast with her.

It was starting to get cold outside, so at Mal0's request, I put on a coat to go to school.
It was one of my favorites, dark blue with a little fluffy fur around the collar.
I thanked her internally as I walked the few blocks that separated my apartment from the school.
The cold felt like needles digging into the few inches of skin that weren't covered by clothing.
(It's only April and it's already so cold?)
I checked my cell phone with a frown and was surprised to see that we were, in fact, in the final days of June.
(Oh.)
(...)
(Wow, my sense of time is on its last legs.)
I scratched my head as I walked the last few yards to school.
In just one month I would be seventeen years old.
I stared off into nothingness as I walked through the halls of the school without even thinking about it.
(What would I do for a living when I grew up?)
(Psychologist, programmer, artist, or dentist, like mom?)
(Will I even be able to work?) -I thought remembering the foundation chains tied to my ankle.
-Are you all right, Quentin? -asked a voice in my earpiece.
