I think I speak for all the girls in the school when I say that it is not necessary for the skirt to be part of the uniform.
Was it really?
...
I could see several groups of teenagers walking together in the direction of the school.
I would really like to talk to them, but I feel like I don't fit into any group.
(...!)
(There he is!)
My heart skipped a beat at the sight of him.
His curly hair, his tired look, his misaligned uniform....I had never spoken to him, but I knew his name was Quentin, from the few times I had heard him speak.
He's always hanging out with the troublesome kids in the school, but I've never seen him cause trouble or make fun of anyone.
I didn't know why but it made me very nervous to be around him, or just to think about him....
I shouldn't think about that, I should concentrate on today's exam..
(...)
(I don't even remember what it was about.)
I just hope I pass this exam...
I don't want mom to worry about me, I know she is working very hard.(I would like her to spend more time at home, or with me, though).

My heart rate sped up as I saw the professor enter the room with a bundle of photocopies.
He rested them on his desk with a thud before clearing his voice.
-I'll pair up two people since I didn't get enough photocopies.
The whole classroom sighed.
-You'll have an hour and a half to solve the exam.
(What?!)
(He must have been joking...)
I looked around scared, I saw many people happy and some others sad.
(I didn't want to feel responsible for someone else's grade...)
I started biting my nails, a habit I swore to stop but it never worked.
-And you Quentin, over there with Mia. -Said the professor's raspy voice, pointing his finger at me.
(WHAT?!)
I must have misheard him, there was no chance that him...)
I could see him get up from his place, somewhat resigned as he stared at the floor.
He sat down on the chair next to me, looking at me for a few seconds.
H-Hi -He stammered, visibly uncomfortable.
-Hello. - I replied, as formally as I could.
(Did that sound too formal?)
(I should have greeted him differently or maybe it was okay...)His expression looked tired and sad, he looked like he hadn't studied for the exam.
He looked like he hadn't slept all night....
Maybe what I heard one day was true, that he does homework for other kids in the class.I wanted to ask him if he studied, but the words seemed to form a lump in my throat.
I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye, but he was typing something on his phone and staring at something on the ceiling.
