I locked the door behind me, stretching as I did.
Kicked away my shoes and plopped down on the living room sofa, not even bothering to change my clothes.
This week hasn't been the greatest, but it didn't matter now.
It was Friday night, and I had plans.Well, if you could call playing fighting games with Mal0 all night a plan, that is.
-Are you feeling okay? -Mal0 said, sitting right besides me.
-Yeah, just give me a second. -I said, not even moving from my spot.
It took all of my willpower just to even keep my eyes open, but I managed to sit up on the sofa, pulling out my phone from my pocket.
-So, what do you want to eat?
-...
-No idea. -Mal0 shrugged, using my own phone from a distance. It always amazed me how she could use the phone without actually touching the screen, just waving her fingers in front of it.
Like some kind of orchestra director, or something.
-We could get some takeout.
-Maybe there's some good discounts for the weekend. -She said, opening the app.-Oh.
The pictures of food disappeared abruptly, just to show an incoming call with an unknown id.
I answered immediately, fearing I would get chewed out again by the foundation for taking too long to answer again.
-Hello?
-Yo, Curly Q. -The voice in the phone said.
I was struggling to remember who I gave my number to, maybe they wanted my help with something?
-Who is this? -I said, looking at the caller on my phone.
-Oh c'mon, you don't remember me?! -He exclaimed.
-Thought we had something special, man...Looking at the name on screen for a few seconds, the gears in my brain finally started turning.
Remembering that mission we were supposed to do with Mal0, and ended up meeting with another anomalous duo.-Oh, Nick.
-Y-Yeah, I remember you now.
-Sorry, had a rough day.
-Uhh... What's up? -I said, unsure of what to say.-Nothing, really.
-Mal said I should call you guys before swinging by, just in case.
-It's a decency thing, she said.-Huh?
-What do you mean?A muted laugh came out of my phone speaker, as Nick hung up the call.
I looked at Mal0, who shrugged and shook her head.
I was going to say something to her when a knock on my door almost made me jump from the sofa.
I walked towards the door and peeked out from the eye hole.
A skinny-looking guy was standing there wearing a varsity jacket, holding two pizza boxes while tapping his foot, and looking at his phone with the other hand.
-What?! -I said, a bit too loud.
I quickly undid the locks on the door and swung it open.
-Ma'am, your delivery has arrived! -Nick said, mockingly.
-That's going to be $43.50. I accept tips in large bills!-I didn't--
-How did you...-We had to go to the city to take care of some classified errands and thought we'd swing by, y'know?
-Good thing we brought some food.
-We could both pack some pounds, eh?
