Chapter 20

~Natsu's POV~

Lucy should be back in a couple of minutes, before the sun sets, with Lillie and Ryu.

I couldn't wait to see them.

"Natsu?" Zeref calls out to me. "What is it brother?"

"Where did Lucy run off to?" I sighed and shook my head

"You really should pay more attention brother. She went off to grab Lillie and Ryu from Mavis."

"Oh yes, that's right."

I sighed. "Really, pay more attention next time"

He nodded his head. "I will brother"

He paused for a moment, then spoke up again.

"Hey uh, did anyone go with her by chance?"

I looked over my shoulder and glared at him.

"Of course someone went with her. Do you really think I'm that stupid?"

Zeref shook his head.

"I'm not going to let her go places on her own after what happened a couple days ago"

He nodded.

"Of course brother. By the way, we had an amazing time with the kid's"

I smiled slightly. "That's great to hear."

After our little conversation, Zeref left and I decided to head downstairs.

"I hope Lucy isn't too much longer."

I was waiting in the living room now, waiting for Lucy and the others to finally come back.

Then I heard car doors being shut.

"Finally!" I sighed in annoyance.

"It only took her an hour and a half."

I walked up to the front door, and I opened it to see Lillie holding her mom's hand.

"Father!"

Lillie screeched as she ran to me.

"Hi there sweetie."

I got down and hugged her. "How was your stay with Aunt Mavis?"

She let me go, then jumped up and down.

"It was so fun! We did so many fun thing's with her and Uncle Zeref!"

I chuckled lightly. "Did you now? You can tell daddy about it later, okay?"

She nodded. "Okay father."

Lillie ran inside, up to her room I suppose, after our little conversation so I walked out to Lucy.

"You need any help here Lucy?" I asked.

"Nope. I'm all good, thanks." I stared at her, very confused.

"Are you sure?" I asked again.

"I'm all set, Natsu." Okay, weird.

Lucy never act's like this unless-

Damn it.

She's probably upset because I didn't go with her to pick up the kid's...

"Lucy, come on, don't do that. I would have gone if I could have. You know that."

She shook her head and scoffed while rolling her eyes.

"You can't even make time for your children? Not very cool."
