*** Akali POV   ***

Lounging around in our apartment, Ahri then pops her head out from the front door, "Where are the rest of the girls?"

"No clue. Evelynn is probably out doing some work and Kai'Sa... well I have no idea where she is. Want me to call them?"

She shakes her head stepping into the apartment, "No need. Was just going to break the news to all of you but guess I am going to have to do it one by one," she then pats the side of my legs for me to lift them.

I groan - shifting on the couch I pull my legs towards my body to make room for her.

"So," with a grunt, I settle in my seat, "What news?"

"Well, we own the property. All that is left is simply getting our asses and all of our equipment and belongings over there."

My eyes widen in surprise, "Seriously? I was almost certain we wouldn't be able to secure it so quickly."

"Well... that happens when Evelynn outbids people without batting an eyelash. We will be feeling the impact of its purchase for a few weeks then we should be in the green area again."

I purse my lips, "Money isn't the problem, but with this, we can get rid of our old studio and not pay for extra parking here at this hotel. Eve will be over the moon when she realizes there might be enough parking space for her cars."

"There will be," she giggles, "We have a lot of extra room as well so here is hoping this will be a more permanent residence."

"Up until every celebrity wants us to host a party," not that I would say no but that means we will be doing the cleaning.

"Well we will try to stay far away from that for now," she then clears her throat, "Back to my question, you have a friend that would help us out? Just with basic things like moving and possibly decorating the entire mansion?"

"That is a tall order. Why not get one of your interior designers?"

"Oh, everything has already been planned and sketched. We just need movers and what better to ask people out of good faith and friendship right?"

I narrow my eyes, "We really are trying not to spend any more than we have to huh?"

She nods, "We will be on tour soon as well. So... you know... gotta save money up until we make it all back," with a wink she lifts herself, "I am going to check where the rest of them are. Let me know if I need to contract some workers."

I then state, "I have two people in mind. I will ask and let you know when I know."

"Oh? Seeing someone are we?"

"It's D."

Ahri narrows her eyes with a smile, "Okay, and the second one?"

"An acquaintance from my past is all-"

She then furrows her brow, "I thought you would rather avoid everyone from your past. Did something happen or?"

I shake my head, "Nothing really. He just happened to be one of my biggest rivals from the past that ended up the exact same way as I did."

"Don't you think that it is a coincidence?" she rests her hands on her hips, "He could have gone anywhere. This place is pretty far from their hideout - odds are he might be here for you."

I shiver at the thought, though quickly brush the feeling off, "Not a chance. When I meant Rival it was more like a hatred that flowed as much as an open wound."

"So... why are we inviting him?"

"Are you even listening?"

"I am, I am. Just trying to make sure I understand everything completely before I ask stupid questions like do you plan to date this boy."

"God no! There is nothing ever going to be between me and him other than maybe friends. If we don't kill each other first."

She twists her mouth to the side, "With those kinds of maybe's you might just think you are being friends and next thing you know you are in the same bed-"

"OKAY...  you can stop with whatever you are trying to do."

"Just teasing you," she winks at me, "Well just think about it okay? Is it really worth the pain of getting to know someone you disliked for a very long time? Just looking out for you before Evelynn decides to take extensive measures."

I snort, "Trust me, I can handle him."

"Okay okay," she lifts her hands in defense.

"Thanks though," I return the smile, "I appreciate you giving me the update and reality check."

"Anytime."

I know she is just looking out for me and there is nothing wrong with some harmless teasing. It just works me up so much when I even try to think of that possibility. I will probably subconsciously distance myself so quickly from him the moment there is even a trace of that.

What am I even thinking?

He was reluctant to the idea of just being friends. Yesterday's talk with him was an eye-opener. Pretty much confirming that the two of us can get along if we tried and honestly I really want to see if the two of us can even be friends after everything that happened between us.

It is hard to believe now - back then I wanted to be friends with him, but we were brought up to be enemies.

Guess we have the damned Order to thank for that.

Reaching for my phone I call him, "Yo... got time to talk?"

"Yeah. Let me just take the call outside," I hear him moving around.

I chuckle, "You don't need privacy from the entire world just to take a call from me."

He hits back, "I'd prefer that the 'Akali fan club' stayed away from me."

I chuckle, "Guess that is a valid reason."

"Yeah... what's up? Pretty sure I was the one that should have called you."

"If that were the case you would probably never have called me," I then shift on the couch, stretching my legs out, "Are you free this coming weekend?"

"I can be, why?"

"Can be?"

"I have been taking up some freelancing. I am currently in a training program and you just happened to catch me during my break."

"Lucky me, that still doesn't answer my question."

"Freelancing Akali. I choose when I work but that means I need to know my plans ahead of time. I assume you want to do something this weekend?"

"I actually would like to hire you then."

"Uhm, I am pretty sure you can take care of yourself without needing me to detain a criminal or play bodyguard."

I chuckle, "You aren't wrong. Actually, we are moving house and it will probably take the entire weekend and some muscle would be appreciated. I can pay if money is an issue-"

"We can deal with that when we get to it," I hear him mutter something that I just can't quite hear, "Sure. Just send me the details and I will let you know about the payment."

I warn him jokingly, "Contain yourself when you do get here, you are going to be surrounded by four popstars. Time spent updating your social status will be deducted from your pay."

"Uh-huh, will that be all?"

"Trying to get rid of me?"

"I would actually like to enjoy my break."

I suppress my chuckle, "You are so cold towards me. I get I will stop bothering you."

"Enjoy the rest of your day," he ends the call in my ear.

I smile to myself, "That I will."
