***   Akali POV   ***

I shiver at the cold piercing my skin, I pull on the scarf fixed around my neck allowing the fresh cold to travel throughout my body. In a sense acts so much better than anything else to wake me.

"Damn this cold... just a few days ago it was scorching and now it feels like Winter is just around the corner," I groan to myself.

I start the day like every other. I begrudgingly curse myself as I force myself out of bed to start my days early... hell it feels almost like a lifetime away from my life spent with the Order. Waking up at the exact same time with much more energy.

Guess I have gotten a little bit lazy - well... I can possibly still do everything I did back then, not like it just disappears.

A weak attempt of trying to convince myself that I didn't completely forget about everything I did.

I almost freeze in place as I step into the cafe we met. We have been walking that thin line between love and hate - probably sleeping with it without any second thoughts and it feels like it is too good to be true. Though I guess for the two of us it is all a matter of finding our place.

Whether that be with each other or without.

But there is no need to think about it anymore. Honestly, the very thing I was scared to do already happened and we crossed over to that 'point of no return' scenario we all have in our heads.

Mine is being so far down that path that every decision we make will only start killing us slowly and painfully.

But I am past that stage and I wish only to focus on the good if that is possible. Whatever happened in the past we both decided it would be best to just let it die. Even if the past may catch up to us... we will face it together. Even if it is them - I will pay them no mind.

Cause the feelings I have for him now are hard to come by and I don't want to let them go.

*** Normal POV ***

"Whatcha thinking about?" Akali plops down in the opposite to me.

"It's cold today."

"At least you have a knack for pointing out the obvious."

I almost snort at her remark, "G'morning."

"Morning to you too," she then rests her arm on the table, "I genuinely have no idea what to do today. Honestly, I was surprised to hear that you were free."

I chuckle, "Yeah well I only said so because I was dying to get some sleep."

"My 1 am calls are going underappreciated," she pouts.

Narrowing my eyes at her, "The only part worth appreciating is that fact that it's you. If it was anyone else I wouldn't have bothered answering. You can always just not call me at that time."

"But I wanted to claim you for the day before you decided to get some work done."

"Well, I don't have a better way to spend today other than with you," I offer her a smile.

She twists her head with a smirk, "That sounded dangerously close to a genuine compliment," she then drops her gaze to the table, "Maybe a backhanded one... unless you are saying there are better ways to spend the day."

"I was kind of hoping for the former."

"Kind of?!"

"Maybe that was a poor choice of words..." I purse my lips as she gives me a look of disdain that quickly shifts into a smile, "What?"
