Epilogue

Three weeks passed since that day. We left without saying goodbye and honestly it was the best thing for us, even though I did skip out speaking with people that didn't treat me like shit like Grace. Akali still kept some form of communication with her Mother and both Shen and Grace sent their regards. 

The state of the order... well honestly I couldn't care less. Not anymore at least. I found a new home and someone that I loved dearly, someone that made me believe that I was enough. She mended this broken heart and in the end, she smiled at me with her scarred hands.

And now? I have never felt happier.

"Hey," Akali pushes her finger against my cheek to grab my attention, "You are spacing out on me again," she pouts at me.

I smile at her, wrapping my arms around her, "I love you."

"I only asked what you wanted to do today..." she then giggles, "I love you too."

I then pull away, my hands traveling from her shoulders to her hands, "What do you feel like doing? Honestly, I still have to make up for that night I ruined with my terrible life choices."

She lifts her gaze to the roof, "I am thinking we should do exactly that," she tilts her head, "Though I hope that this time it won't end nearly as bad as it did then."

I furrow my brow, "What do you mean? Not only did we go on a road trip we got rid of a lot of issues."

She smiles at me, "So is that what you were thinking about?"

I shake my head, "No. I was thinking about how lucky I was to be able to have you to fix this broken soul."

She nods, "I am pretty awesome like that," she then rests her head on my chest, "Though stay fixed this time. I don't think I am ready to go through another one of those for a while."

"Neither am I," I run my fingers through her hair.

"I can just stay like this forever," she says, looking up at me.

"We could stay home," I offer, "It sure as hell beats having to go outside where everyone can bother us yet again."

She then pushes me back onto the bed, brushing her lips against mine, "Maybe we can stay in bed for a bit longer?"

Caressing her cheek she shuts her eyes as she rests her head into my hand, "It looks like we plan on doing absolutely nothing today don't we?"

Her eyes still shut she smiles, "Hmm, I think so. We can also get the rest of the girls and see if they have any plans for tonight and we can just join them?"

"I'd rather be alone with you."

She opens her eyes, "You'd have me for the rest of the night when we get home."

I smile at her, then lift myself to hug her again, "Thank you, Akali. Forgetting about our relationship... I am really grateful to you for sticking by me through the end."

She shakes her head, "I promised to stick with you till the end didn't I?"

I smile to myself, "Does that mean what I think it means?"

"I love you, always and forever."

I shut my eyes, as we hold each other, "Always and forever."
