It's been there a while now, this anger, just lingering in my thoughts as if that is all I am capable of. I'm angry at her, hell, that isn't even quite right. She just knows how to push my buttons in a way that just brings the anger out.

My anger is more directed at the constant reminder that I can't be like her, I can't be better even if I tried. She will just always be ahead. My problem is not because that it is true, no, the issue is that this revelation is overshadowing my own achievements to the point where they drain the life out of me.

In their eyes, I am just a placeholder for their golden child.

But the truth is, realistically there is no way I will be able to this for them if we are constantly fighting. My life needs to change for the better because there's more going into this brain and body than I can handle and still be me.

So, even if it's not okay with you, Akali - I will make sure to mend your relationships with the people you left behind.

The Fist of Shadow, I don't care for it anymore. I am just a shadow of someone else, an echo of the person I am supposed to be. Then again the only reason I grasped so tightly to it was just to piss them off. A massive fuck you for trying to push a notion that I don't belong but yet no one is able to kick me off of that thorny throne.

Maybe there is a silver lining in trying to befriend that woman - I can get her mother off of my back.

Deciding to keep my meditation thoughts aside and focus on something that has a much larger chance of giving me inner peace. I lift myself from my crouched position and head straight for the open window.

At the bottom of the street there a group of people sitting near an alleyway smoking something - not a moment later more cars park in the street to disappear into that same alleyway. This might explain why I am hearing music and laughter.

Some sort of party? My eyes widen in surprise - maybe the reason it is so cheap is that they know that their residents aren't going to get any sleep. Then again this might just be one of those tourist attractions where you lose a lot of things.

Money being the more prominent of the bundle. I shut my eyes as I rub my temples; I guess the best thing to do in this scenario is getting the full 'big-city experience'.

This is going to be very awkward if this is another invite-only thing.

Getting dressed in enough layers to not absolutely freeze my ass off, I leave the apartment complex. Stepping out of the front door, I dig my hands in my pockets as I slip behind a group of people heading in the exact same direction.

Simply walking with them, I seemingly slip past unnoticed. Well, whether or not they saw me probably doesn't bother me at all. If I wanted to I could have been extravagant about it.

The scene is like a whole world hiding in plain sight, more like a plaza than anything else. With lanterns hanging above as if they were celebrating a festival. Plenty of benches scattered which are all pretty much occupied.

At the sides, there are vendors which I can only assume provide food. Amidst the few of them, there is a larger opening with even more lighting and people inside, a bar. Even further down the square is where the music is coming from.

I only then notice that everyone's attention is directed towards the music. I brush past a few people to get a better look - a group of people either dancing or rapping. I am held in place as I watch in complete amusement as everything unfolds. Until someone suddenly stumbles into me, breaking the trance.

"Woah, sorry there bro" he chuckles, "Almost knocked me off my feet an' I was the one walkin' into you."

I shake my head, "No worries."

"Hey... you are new here right?" he smirks, "Come on," he gestures for me to follow him.

This is at this point where I either make a good friend, get attached to drugs, or disappear from the face of the earth and turn into a slave that worked his way up and is now dominating the slave market out of spite.

"You can tell?"

"Well, there is a lotta regulars. Your face is still new here so I figured I grab you before another group does."

I lift my brow, "Sounds like a pretty friendly place."

She nods, "Everyone is chill. It is like this every other night. Though you happened to swing by when this place is packed with people - me and a couple of friends are gonna meet up if you want to burn some time?"

"Depends on what we are going to be doing?"

"Nothing that bad. It really depends on what they decide on at the end of the night and well it just mostly just consists of unwinding and having fun ya know?"

I nod, "I am down with that."

"Cool man," he then leads me to the bar, "Name's Danial. Can call me D if you wanna keep it short."

"D?" I chuckle, "My name is (Y/N)."

"Pleased to meet," he then turns to the bartender, "Want anything to drink, or are you good?"

"I am fine," I admit, "Is it always this lively around here?"

He nods, "If you stay long enough you will be forced to rap and dance with the rest of the people though. So most people disappear within a few hours but it is like an initiation to a tight group of members."

"Sound pretty fun," I then admit, "This is my first time in the city so I am pretty naive to most things."

"Shit, really? You a farm boy?" he looks me up and down, "You don't look like it."

"Just from a very close group of people that tend to stick to themselves and not with the rest of society."

"Then why are you out here then?"

I tilt my head from side to side, "Looking from someone. She was from our group and then just disappeared."

"She special to you," he arches his brow.

"No. Not at all. An absolute pain and incredibly hard to talk to. Annoying-"

He stops me with a laugh, "I get you don't like her. Then why go out of your way to come for her then? Are you playing hard to get or the other way around?"

I shake my head, "A favor for the people that actually care about her."

"Aight, not something I would ever do. I imagine if she was really that bad then you'd try to stay well away from her right?"

I nod. I would have preferred that but... when we look at what I have to deal with on a daily basis and what I to go through with her. I'd easily choose Akali's bickering.

"Hey, D! Glad to see you are always early? Who is this?" A female voice calls, a painfully familiar one.

I slowly turn as I wait for D to introduce me to Akali, "Oh, a new face. This is (Y/N) and she is Akali, The Rebel from K/DA."

Her expression shifts into pure horror, "Oh... you."

D doesn't notice and turns to me, "See? Looks like the right group stole you before the rest could," he laughs.

This is going to be a long night.
