It is painful. I could tell the moment D introduced me to Akali that something was off. His invitation was pretty half-assed as well so that only means that he knows me from Akali's past.

I was introduced to their group and although it was friendly greetings all-around I could still feel her glare burning a hole in the back of my head. Probably sulking right now because I happen to stumble on her little sanctuary.

She should realize that she didn't patent this form of fun and socializing. Ahh, but it is all probably because we hate each other with every fiber of our being.

I stuck at the back of the group, as much as D and some of the others wanted to make me feel a part of it... it felt lacking. I didn't belong here - this is her group of people and when one of us is in the vicinity the other won't have fun.

Would have been better if they didn't invite me or if I just refused. How did I even get myself in this situation?

"Hey, wanted to talk to you 'bout something," D approaches me.

I tilt my head, "About Akali and I?"

He snorts, "That obvious? Wanted to apologize it must've looked pretty bad on my end-"

I stop him, "She is your friend. You couldn't have known that I am the single person she hates the most."

"Can't be that bad right?"

"It is."

"And you? Do you hate her that much?"

"If not more, yeah," my gaze shifts to her bursting into laughter with the rest of the group, probably the first time I have seen her laugh or smiled with genuine happiness, "It is just one of those things."

"Well, rather than just shying away at the back of the pack," he points to the rest of the group, "How about you actually join us? As long as the two of you can forget about the past for just tonight and act like strangers then it shouldn't be that bad, right?"

"You are asking the impossible from both of us," I then sigh, "I'll do what I can but don't expect the same from her," I keep my insults at bay, he would much sooner defend her than agree with me.

"That is the spirit!" he laughs as he pushes me forward to the group.

I roll my eyes with a chuckle as I approach the rest of the group.

Jaime, a bigger guy, then smirks at me, "Glad to see you joined the rest of the group."

I return the same look, "A little bit people shy, parents didn't let me get out much."

He shakes his head, "You're cool man," he then crosses his arms over his chest, "Hope you are a good runner for tonight's plans."

Akali then jumps in, "Trust me, he would be a star athlete when it comes to that."

Our eyes meet each other briefly, "When it comes to running away from problems, some better than others."

Jaime laughs, "A'right, Mr star athlete. I don't want to end up sending Akali to save your ass."

"Don't need to worry about that," hoping that my confidence in myself is not misplaced, I still have to figure out what the plans are for later.

Running from the cops. If I wanted to run from the cops I would have done that the moment I tried to get in the damned hotel. They found a pretty nice-looking place and decided to create it into a coloring book.

A small bag of cans is at my feet, I stare blankly at the wall in front of me and then back at the rest of them.

Guess there are only a few things that come to mind. I won't classify myself as an artist but here goes. Reaching for the cans I start working on my 'master piece'. It didn't take long till the fumes started reaching my system.
