"How are you feeling?" the question wasn't a strange one but I felt like I have been hearing it a lot lately. Whether it is me asking myself that question or someone else.

I turn my gaze from the ceiling to Akali laying right beside me, "I... I am fine."

"Just trying to get your head on straight?" I nod, she then lifts herself over me, "Well... then I will give you some time to wake up before we head out," she smiles at me.

"We?" I furrow my brow at her.

"Yeah," she crosses her legs as she brushes her loose hair from her face, "Reckon that it would be a real kick in the gut if I came along only to say my final goodbyes."

I then turn on my side, "Do you think it is worth it?"

She smirks at me, "I should be asking you that question."

I nod, "Yeah... maybe it isn't worth it on paper but I feel like this needed to be done," she reaches for my hand and I lift it for her to hold me, "I could have just left. Not say anything to you and we wouldn't have been here. You wouldn't have had to worry about me-"

She squeezes my hand, "And then you would have been killing yourself with guilt."

"I would have gotten over myself eventually," I smile at her but it fades almost instantly, "I always do."

She scoots closer, "I prefer that you told me about it all. It might seem like just a painful experience but rather now than later, right? We can get through this and be strong together."

"Why do put up with me?"

"Looks like we are getting all of the questions out early," she smiles at me, "Good I don't feel like dealing with this when we get there."

"Akali..."

"Because I love you damnit," she tilts her head, brushing the hair behind her ear, "And don't you dare ask why I love you."

I crack a smile, "I won't."

She tugs at my arm, "Come. No point wasting time in here when we should be out there tell them where to stick it."

I lazily lift myself, "Am I going to have to keep you from-"

She looks at me through the corner of my eye, "Don't stop me. Whatever may happen, whatever I may say in the heat of the moment trust that I mean every single damned word that comes out of my mouth. They need to hear it and so do you," she gestures for me to get up, "Come."

I get out of bed, taking a quick shower before her to get myself started. As soon as I finish she already walks inside I only just realized that she pretty much only wearing a T-shirt. I feel my face flushed as I turn away to let her undress in peace.

After waiting a while she steps back into her room with a towel around her shoulders, smiling at me slyly, she drops on my lap, "Didn't know you were one to get flushed so easily."

"Wait - I didn't-"

She brings her lips to my ear, "Did you think I would realize the way you looked at me?" she then silences me with a kiss.

I then continue, "I just noticed-"

"Hmm?" she then giggles.

"Nevermind," it all just makes me wonder what would have happened if I didn't open that specific can of worms. I curse myself under my breath, I then look her in the eyes, "I like your hair more when it is down."

"Smooth," she laughs, lifting herself from my lap, busy tying her, "Unfortunately for you I prefer it being tied."

"That so?" I lift myself, I then throw my gaze towards her door.

"Yeah," she then pulls my gaze back onto her, "Don't worry about them. Most of them are still asleep and we will only hear from them when we are back."

"Is this fine? You being gone for so-"

She nods, "Not doing anything better with my life and there is nothing else I'd rather do that fight your battles with you."

"You shouldn't have to-"

She shakes her head, "But you would do the same for me," she then grabs a bag throwing it over her shoulder, "Again... it isn't up for debate so don't try to dissuade me."

I give her a firm nod as she leads me out of the room, through the house, and back into the garage. It was still terribly early, the sun has yet to rise from the horizon. She tosses me a helmet.

"Got as extra and I fear we won't get far before they stop us," she winks at me, "And it pays to be safe."

I look at the helmet, "Would suck to only die from a crash after all of the shit I put you through."

She sighs, "Right?" she then grabs the bike pushing it to the courtyard, hopping on she rests the helmet on her lap, "We should get there in twelve hours. So if you ever need to take a break just pat me on the shoulder if you need to take a break."

I then ask, "Twelve hours on a bike? Are you sure you are up for that?"

She nods, "Yeah. We will get there faster and we get to pass most of the traffic," she then purses her lips, "Hey..."

I walk closer, "Yeah."

"You know I will be next to you whatever happens. I don't plan on taking their side for a second," she sighs, "Even if it seems like it, they are family and I still have to bring myself to face them after disappearing for a few years."

"I know-"

"Which means," she averts her gaze, "This isn't the ideal place to discuss it or well... you know... the right time."

I furrow my brow, the realization hits like a brick, "Akali..."

She looks at me with a look of anticipation, I stammer over my words and in the end, give a nervous chuckle, I guess I really can't bring myself to say it huh? Am I still feeling guilty?

"It's fine-"

I grab her hand, forcing the words as if it all depended on her hearing them, "I love you."

She throws her arms around me, pulling me into a kiss, standing in each other's embrace for a moment longer, communicating what we both were feeling without saying what we wanted.

"Are you two going to go or what?" we both break the kiss, shooting our gaze to Eve watching us with narrowed eyes.

"We were-"

"Yeah, I can see what you were doing," she rolls her eyes at us, "You two can be all in love with each other when you get back."

She disappears back into the house, "I guess that settles it huh?"

I then look at her, "What? Is that supposed to be her blessing?"

She arches her brow with pursed lips, "You really want her blessing?"

"I mean-"

She shakes her head, "The people we should worry about is the Order. I can tell you that we might have to fight our way out the moment they see the two of us."

"So... we are definitely not hiding it?" before she could remark on it I add, "Good."

She chuckles, "Good save. "
