CHAPTER 24:  Sunshiny Happy

After a quick morning prayer, she went to the kitchen as she heard voices and laughing come from it.

She was cooking breakfast with Frank and their Mom, the two kids already at the dining table waiting for their own mom to finish cooking.

“Good morning everyone.” Lyn greeted everyone.  She kissed each one on the cheek and even Frank na tinapik niya pa sa balikat in acknowledgment.  “This is a very pleasant family scene.” Komento ni Lyn.

“Frank arrived very early waking everyone up.” Joy started to explain.  “He had breakfast stuff with him so we decided to cook breakfast for you.”

“Ma talaga…” Lyn said as she sat on her place on the dining table.

“Si Frank ang sisihin mo.  Masyadong nag-aalala sa’yo.”  Sabi ni Joyce.  Pinagdilatan ni Lyn si Frank at Joyce.  “Sagutin mo na kasi ‘to.”

“Well… he seems like a nice guy.” Push pa ni Joyce sabay tawa.  Lyn continued to observe the two, trying to feel anything between the two, but their exchange sounded like they were just long lost close friends.

“Salamat Joyce.” Frank said sabay bow kay Joyce.  Tumawa ulit ang dalawa.

“Kayo ha… tigil-tigilan ninyo ‘ko.” Sagot naman ni Lyn.

“We just want you to be happy Ate.”

“I am happy.”

“Oh stop Frank… it’s too early for a debate.”

So the entire group sat around the breakfast table exchanging pleasant conversation and laughter while Lyn watched.

It was very soothing to be with family.  With Lyn’s condition, it was making her feel very secure and loved and she couldn’t ask for anything else in this world forgetting the sinking void she felt the night before.   She thanked the Lord for her family… and Frank.

She was starting to get used to him.  She watched as he comfortably made conversation with her family, like he is already an essential part of them and she liked how this was making her feel.

Maybe it is time to try this thing out.  Of letting someone in.  Letting go of her closely guarded emotional independence.  Her thought made her smile making her feel all sunshiny happy.
