CHAPTER 32: The Bully

Magkikita sila ni Frank at 10AM, that's why she made sure she had already breast fed Zion. She was also able to pump some more milk and left it in the freezer just in case she couldn't come back in time for Zion's next feeding session. She also gave instructions to the baby's yaya for any event that might happen while she was away.

Darating ang mga magulang ni Zed in time for lunch. Ayaw niyang maabutan siya dito ng mga magulang ni Zed dahil sigurado siyang she won't have any chance of leaving the resort if they are here already.

She really needs a break from all these. She already feels the overwhelming feeling of not being able to control her life. But she always has a choice. She watched Zion sleeping in his crib. He looks so peaceful, oblivious to the events unfolding around him. Events that might effect his entire life. She vowed to make sure that however this ends, it will be for his best interest.

She glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that it was already 9:50 AM and decided to start walking to the gate. She was in a blue maxi dress and leather slippers and her slingbag. She greeted the guards at the gate and told them that she just had to buy something in the city. Kahit di naman niya dapat gawin ay sinabi niya yun para may maisagot ang guards pagnagtanong si Zed.

While walking on the road towards the city nakita niyang may naghihintay na isang itim na VIOS sa tabi ng daan. Nagbukas agad ang pinto nito at bumaba mula dito ang pamilyar na hitsura ni Frank. Tumakbo ito at agad na sinalubong si Lyn at niyakap ito.

"God Lyn, I missed you so much." Saad nito habang hinalikan ang buhok nito. Bahagyang tinulak ito ni Lyn. Hindi siya komportable sa pagyakap nito. Hindi sumagot si Lyn and it was she who led them to the car. Hindi na pinansin ni Frank ang bahagyang pagtulak ni Lyn sa kanya.

They have already driven about two kilometers away from the resort when he started to speak.

"Lyn... what is happening? Why is Zed so...?"

"Frank, he asked me to marry him. I told him no. Obviously ang isang taong tulad niya couldn't take no for an answer." She paused. Looked at the horizon before she spoke again. "Shit! Kasalanan ko din lahat ito." She said. Sumipa pa sa harap niya sa inis.

"Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. How is Zion?" he tried to lighten her mood.

"Zion..." Lyn's mood immediately changed. "Zion's wonderful! He's been a really good baby." Nakangiting nagsimulang magkwento si Lyn about Baby Zion. Naging masigla ang kwentuhan. The dynamics between them just got back to being kabarkada. At bakit naman hindi. Sa tinagal-tagal ni Lyn sa Cebu, ito lang naman talaga si Frank ang naging kaibigan niya.

It took about 30 minutes more nang marating na nila ang isang restaurant na malapit sa City. Gusto sana ni Lyn kumain sa sutukil ngunit sabi ni Frank marami daw tao doon ngayon dahil Biernes kaya't dinala na lang ni Frank si Lyn sa isang sosyal na restaurant pero sutukil paluto pa rin ang concept.

Lyn looked at the place while Frank was ordering. This is her first time here. Sabi ni Frank nadala na niya dito sina Joy at Joyce. Naisip niyang naging sobrang busy talaga siya for missing going around Cebu nang panahong nagbubuntis pa siya.

Naghihintay pa sila ng kanilang paluto nang biglang nag-ring ang telepono ni Lyn.

"Yes."

"Where are you?" tanong ng boses lalaki sa kabilang linya.

"Anong pakialam mo?" mataray na sagot ni Lyn.

"Nandito na sina Mama at Papa. Di ba sabi ko sa'yo dito sila maglalunch. Bakit ka umalis? Nasaan ka?" galit ang tono ni Zed sa kabilang linya.
