Chapter 9

The Doctor's POV

if I tell Liy what I really am, she'll probably faint again. So I warn her. "If I tell you, you might faint again."

Lily glares. "I'm strong. Try me." I try not to laugh as she attempts to get taller, but as she is even shorter than Clara, this is nearly impossible. "I am!"

I sigh and give in. "I'm a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. I'm an alien."

Lily looks at me. "Sooo... You're an alien who lives in a blue box that's..." She surveys the console room. "Larger on the interior?"

I give her a funny look. "I was preparing for 'bigger on the inside' or 'smaller on the outside' like Clara said, but that works too. Larger on the interior. Hmmm."

Clara's POV

Danny's anger at me seems to fade from his face. I smile at him through leftover tears. "Now do you understand?"

He nods mutely.

"It's been you from the very beginning Danny. How could it not? You. Always you. Always and forever for eternity."

I can tell he's trying not to cry. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asks sadly.

I look down, ashamed. "I was afraid that you'd be jealous of the Doctor. I didn't want him to come between us." I take his hand and link our fingers together. "Come on. Let's go fix things back at the Tardis. I wouldn't be surprised if Lily hates me now." we begin walking toward the Tardis.

We're nearly there when Danny stops. I stop and turn to face him, a questioning look on my face.

"Prove it," he whispers.

"Huh?"

"Prove you love me."

I stand on tiptoe, one of my gands starying to the front of his shirt. "I love you," I whisper. My fingers curl around a fistful of his shirt, pulling him towards me- and as he leans this way, my lips crash into his. We stay that way for a few minutes, totally enveloped in each other.

"Oi!"

We break apart, both blushing furiously.

The Doctor stands at the door of the Tardis, Lily standing behind him with crossed arms and a hurt look on her face.

I guess our last encounter wasn't so nice.
