Lily's POV

I try to remember that Clara was devastated when she told the Doctor that I could die, but I still feel crappy.

The Doctor sighs. "Really, what is it with humans and kissing?"

Clara seems annoyed. "You kissed River Song. Girl with the curly blonde explosion on top of her head?"

The Doctor sighs again. "Forevers ago."

Clara laugs softly and turns to me. "Lily..."

I blink at her and turn away, walking back into the Tardis. I don't want apologies. They can't take away the hurt.

Clara follows me inside, leaving Danny and the Doctor outside alone.

Her gorgeous eyes look so sad. I'm not in love with her anymore, but she still looks- and acts- appealing.

I don't say anything, just look at her over my crossed arms.

A tear sparkles in her eye. "Oh, Lily, I'm sorry. I didn't mean a single word of it. You're my best friend. You know everything about me now."

I nod silently, trying to be angry (futilely), then throw my arms around her. "Clara..." I hug her tightly, trying to convey all my emotions to her through our hug.

"Oi don't hug so tightly, you'll break my bones!" she protests, laughing.

I pull away. "Sorry." I apologize sheepishly.

Clara smiles. "It's okay."

"How're you and Danny?"

"Good. All fixed. It was just drama."

We walk out together and find the Doctor holding a bowl of custard and a plate of fish fingers. Odd combo...

Clara gives him an exasperated look.

"What?" he says defensively. "I got hungry. And bored. Time passes so slowly. How do you stand it? Humans." He snorts.

Clara sighs. "We were inside for less than a minute, Doctor."

His green eyes widen as he realizes what that means.

"Oh."
