Lily's POV
Everyone else has gone off in pairs. So I'm stuck with the Doctor.
Lovely. More chances for him to realize I like him.
For some reason though, today he seems nervous... about what, I'm not sure.
I sit down next to him, my legs crossed. I avoid looking at him, staring at my painted nails.
I look at him for a moment and catch him staring at me. He averts his green eyes quickly.
Whatttt?
He clears his throat and begins to say something, then stops.
Then he starts again. "Lily..."
I try not to show my emotions, how flipping excited I am every time he talks to me. "Yeah?"
"I.. I, um.."
"Yes?" I say impatiently.
"Lily I... I really like you..."
"Aw Doctor I like you too, you're a wonderful friend."
He turns and looks over the horizon as the suns begin to set. "No. Not as a friend Lily, as something more."
Is he saying what I think he's saying? Or am I just hallucinating?
"Um-"
"I'm not sure what's so great about you. I think it's everything. Like, everything you do is so perfect, I can't even hope to compare."
Oh my god. Does he like me???
He turns back to me. "Lily... Will you... will you, uh, go out w-with me?"
My eyes widen and he backtracks immediately.
"If you don't want to I totally understand, it was just a suggestion, I-"
I cut him off by pressing my lips to his.
Finally.
After forevers of waiting, the prize for my patience is here:
A kiss.
A wonderful, beautiful, passionate kiss from the man I love.
The Doctor.
My Doctor.
I can call him that now.
Because he's mine.
And I'm his.
The Doctor's POV
So what they said was true.
Lily does love me.
I don't remember ever feeling so happy about being in a relationship. I mean, I didn't even love River Song that much. She was too badass... but Lily is perfect.
I pull away from her kiss. "Wow."
She smiles awkwardly at me.
"I'm assuming that's a yes?" I whisper hoarsely.
She giggles. "Of course!" She pecks my cheek, then rests her head on my shoulder.
I stroke her silky hair softly.
"I love you..." she whispers as I drop a kiss on top of her head.
"I love you too."
She shifts herself closer to me, and I bury my face in her flowery-scented hair.
Her arm tightens around my body as she presses her lips to mine once again.
