Chapter 39 - Amalie's POV

I bump into Kenzie's back as she suddenly comes to a halt. Rubbing my bumped head, I peer over Mackenzie's shoulder. Michonne is running towards us fast with baby Hazel in her arms, shortly followed by Prim struggling to hold onto Judith.

"Judy!" Carl exclaims, his face brightening as he rushes over to Prim and swoops Judith in his arm, and then planting a kiss on her cheek.
"What are you doing here?" Glenn asks.
"And why have you brought the babies?" Rick asks sternly.
Michonne shakes her head with fear in her eyes, "they were one step ahead of us...."
"What, who were?" Maggie questions, "Michonne what happened?"
Michonne gulps and continues, "people from this place, they came to Amberwood and invaded it"
"We couldn't save everyone..." Prim pipes up, "but the ones who did survive are with Haymitch. He is taking them to a place he knows we can take shelter in for a while. We came here to get you"
Rick sighs deeply and Maggie takes Hazel from Michonne.
"Why did you bring the babies? I mean why didn't Haymitch take them?" Maggie then asked.
"We were in a rush and we happened to be holding them, we had to get out quick" Michonne explains.
"Okay everyone we've got to go, the people are gonna be back soon!" I shout somewhat quietly.

Nevertheless everyone hears me and we sneak out of the building and over to a truck Michonne drove here. Since not everyone can fit inside the car some of us sit on the outside part. This includes, me, Kenzie, Carl, Rick, Judith, Beth, Daryl, Harry and Tris. Inside sits Michonne, who is driving, Prim, Maggie, Glenn and Hazel.

I turn my head and watch as we zoom past the trees, the wind blowing my hair into my face which makes it itch. I start scratching my cheek when I see a smallish building nearby. I point and ask Rick if that's where we're going. He just shrugs his shoulders in reply because obviously he has no idea.

Out of nowhere, I hear the wheels screech to a stop. In panic, I whirl my head around quickly with a confused look planted on my dirty face.
"Sorry, hit a walker" Michonne calls out from the window.
Kenzie then leaps out of the rusty old truck. "I think..." She starts to say as she slowly limps over to the wilderness at the edge of the road, "I think there's someone there"
She keeps trudging. Further and further off the road until she is inside the deadly woods. I'm about to follow her when I head a loud whack.
