Chapter 13 - Kenzie's POV

I can't believe that Beth's been cutting. I try not to think about it. I can't when me and Fliss have so much to catch up on. Well we don't really do much. It's quite late and it's cold and we're both tired. We sleep under a warm duvet together. We talk about our days at school and how much time we've spent apart. It reminds me of when we were 12 having our first sleepover together. It was a cold October holiday before Halloween. I remember running to the door when she arrived. I smiled and hugged her. We ate loads of sweets and went shopping the next day at the shopping centre so near to where we are now. Those days were the best days of my life.

"Kenzie.." Fliss whispers to me. "Yeah Fliss.." I reply
"I saved something for you, when me and Libby were trying to find shelter we went to your house.." She says "here you go" Fliss passes me a faded Polaroid of me and all of my friends and another one of me and my family. There is also one of me and Amalie, me on the left and her on the right, it was always my favourite picture of us.
"Thank you so much Fliss!" I say hugging her.

We both slowly go to sleep with no worries at all.

I wake up when I hear some one shouting really loudly. Fliss is gone.
I look up to see a boy, a bit older than me, maybe 18. He has lovely blond hair and a lip piercing.

He smiles at me and for some reason I smile back at him.
"Hey" he says awkwardly
"I'm Luke"

"Hey, I'm Kenzie .." I reply
I'm still smiling.
"Um.. basically your friend, Felicity, told me to tell you that she's gonna go and get supplies from the old shopping centre with me, your sister Amalie and my friends Ash, Calum and Michael so do you wanna come?"

"Sure!" I reply not thinking

"Great!" he says still smiling

He goes to leave and I suddenly remember that I just woke up and start to flatten out my hair.

"Your hair looks.. um.. er.. you don't need to do that because it looks pretty" he says and then adds "and so does your face" he blushes and then looks down at his shoes, I hear him murmur a swear word under his breath

I blush but luckily he starts to leave.

Fliss suddenly bursts into the room.

"Omg he totally has a thing for you!!" She says a little to loudly.

"Shut up Fliss!" I laugh it make me smile a little to much. HE makes me smile a little to much.
