Chapter 30 - Amalie's POV

Today's the day, the day that Maggie executes Gale. Everyone has diverse opinions on this, some believe that Gale should be locked up or sent away and then others are suggesting we kill him in a more brutal way. But we are sticking to the gun at his head. Rick is sort of like our new leader, it's never officially been said but it's quite clear. Beth tells me he was the leader of their old group and was a good one.

Kenzie and Beth agree to look after Hazel and Judith while everything is going on. Maggie asked me, as well as Glenn, to come with her. Rick will also be there because as I said he is sort of like our new leader now.

I take Maggie's arm and Glenn takes the other and we guide her out of the room and down the corridor. We make our way out of the building and over to the post Gale is tied to (which is behind another building not accessible by everyone else).

When we get there Gale is no where to be seen, just Rick squatting down, a piece of paper in one hand and rubbing his eyes with the other.
"What...what happened? Where's Gale? Rick!" Glenn stutters.
Rick just shows us the piece of paper and says "look"

It reads:

We have taken Gale as prisoner, we know what we'd love to do with him - we are very hungry! However if you leave Amberwood then we shall give Gale back to you. Sound like a deal?
Good!
We will meet outside Amberwood in 2 days and you should have made your decision by then. Get ready to pack your bags!

"They're going to eat him! That's sick, oh my ewww!" A disgusted look forms on my face.
"Well it doesn't matter we was going to kill anyway!" Maggie says.
"Yeah but this is still a big problem!" Rick puts his head in his hands.
Maggie and I give him a confused look.
"Don't you see?" Glenn asks us, "even if we don't give up Amberwood this time, this group will kidnap someone else and then someone else until we leave this place!"
"Ohno!" I whisper and Maggie's hand clamps over her mouth.
"We've had problems with other groups before haven't we?" Rick asks Maggie and Glenn. They both nod.
"Yes it was hard but we did it!" Rick continues.
"Actually we had to leave the prison" Maggie reminds Rick.
"I know, I know... but we know what to do this time. We can form a council here and discuss our options." Rick explains.
"Who would be on it?" I ask.
"Well... Maggie and Glenn, me, Daryl, Michonne, Caesar, Haymitch and if you like you can be too"
A smile spreads across my cheeks "yes please!"
